grew up as a Navy brat till age 18 didn't know any other sort of life.. we were not rich by any means folks both worked, mom did a bunch of volunteer work, but mom was pretty much always home from the time we got up till we got to bed.. dad got home by 5.. so we had about 2 hours of "wait till your dad gets home" to nicely freak out and worry if we did anything wrong.

We had a great Navy community back then and did fear being "little bastard kids" since all the navy housing folks knew each other it was a great way to keep the kids in control..

My folks I feel did their best to make me a better person later in life and allowed me to be happy no matter my income or place in this world.

I ha(d)ve wonderful parents. Dad never laid a finger on me in anger. Mom beat the living shit out of me. It balanced out. The limp is hardly noticeable.

I will just say my mom's book worthy. I think one of my favorite parts would be when she escaped the mental institution.

My dad was in and out of prison most of his adult life. I started in his line of work when I was 12 years old. Had no chose. I use to get so embarrassed in school when dads name was in the news papers. My dear dad passed away at the age of 57. My mom left my dad when I was young. Guess she got tired of his life style.I Went in the Army as soon as I finished high school . The first real normal life I had.

Both of them always support me in everything I do. I knew for a long time that they should be divorced because of how they acted and how completely different they were and they did just that last year. Both seem much less stressed and a lot happier which makes me happy. I do favor my dad, he seems to be more 'there' mentally. Mom will stress out about the tiniest things and our personalities will clash too much, I can only spend max a couple days with her before I start getting really pissed off. The same happens with dad but not nearly as soon so I try to keep my visits with both of them to a day or two. I will admit to not talking to my mom as much as I should, neither of us keep in touch much through phone or any other means. She did just call and ask if I want to help her move south in the coming months which I happily accepted to do, but I'm not sure if I did it because I will enjoy it, or because I feel obligated to make some kind of effort to show I still care out of guilt if that makes any sense.

Both are very cold....
Dad's been dead for two years now, and mom almost 22 years...
Dad was brainwashed into the Holy Roller lifestyle...
----
30 + years ago...
One time, I was driving them to LAX for a flight to NY for business....
My mom sitting in the middle of the El Camino, my dad driving....
My mom started to pray outloud...
"...and dear Lord, we ask you for perfect dry weather while we are in NY..."
I just had to ask:
"Mom, what happens, if two farmers in NY are praying for some rain, because their crops are dry, which prayer will the Lord answer?"

Needless to say, I made mom angry at times...

My Sis still calls me the "Black Sheep"

Pad is so messed up probably that he is studying to be a psyciatrist. The people that I know that got into therapy on the mental level are usually the ones with a pretty fucked up backround.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential ... Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloé with webbed feet. My father would womanize; he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament ... My childhood was typical: summers in Rangoon ... luge lessons ... In the spring, we'd make meat helmets ... When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds — pretty standard, really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of 14, a Zoroastrian named Vilmer ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum — it's breathtaking ... I suggest you try it.When I was 18 I went to evil medical school. At age 25 I took up tap dancing. I wanted to be a quadruple threat: an actor, dancer ...
