I've decided to grow in a 3x4x3 tent how many plants can i grow and how many watts will i need?
First time growing

Careful now.....Ifs hes anything like Bmeat or Feminized Mutt (same person) then he might listen to you. To the OP. You can fit 3-4 plants in that spot max. You will need at least a 250 watt hps lighting system, or at least 300-400 watts of Cfls to grow that many. This is basic seeing how we need a lot more info from you to give you anymore specific answer....

Hey like everyone says we need a few more details but these guys know their shit, so i would listen, can iask, 3x4x3 what? Meter feet inches?? Also what do you want to do, i mean that as in are you growing in soil in pots or are you going to pile aload of soil in there to make a bed? If hieght is an issue you could take a stroll to hydro info as that would limit your hieght, A good place to start, well from my exp. , is to get some cfls to start then get an hps to flower, if your measuring in feet a 250w cfl will do to veg and that and get a 400w hps, with that you could grow 4 maybe 5 but it will depend on the size you want to grow them. Also depends or your air flow situtation how big a light you should get,
there are a few thing to bear in mind, i presume the 4 is your hieght? Cause if it is you will be limited to the size of the plants and size of the light,
once again these are just my thoughts but like they say you will need to provide some more details to get a detailed response,
is it a tent or a home built room? What do you want to grow? What kinda nutes d you want to buy,? These arnt so much vital info but more me trying to get info to get an idea of what you setup is like,

Well puffdaddy you better take "50 cent" and go get a bigger tent...lol...I couldn't resist...But seriously, that's gona constrict the hieght of your plants...Let's see my pots are about a foot tall (3 ft left in ur tent) and my lights hang down another 18inches (1ft 6inches) so that leaves a total of another 18 inches that you can grow them...not very big unless you LST and even then you're pushin it..

Get a 6 or 4 hundred watt cool tube hps and grow 12 sog plants 20 days from cutting clones, or scrog on one big ugly bi7ch with a two month veg, almost. Or just grow two lst plants the old fasioned way. Have fun reading

You might wanna consider hydroponic SOG too, since a pots will take up at least 6-8 inches of valuable vertical space. Probably closer to a foot. Not to mention the 6-12 inches your light is gonna take.
You could fit a lot more 4x4in cubes in that space than you could soil pots. 9 per sq. ft. 108 total.
Grow them 6in tall and flip them. Try to get 2-3g per plant. That's like.....a lot of bud.
The only thing is you'd have to start with clones.
Or you could grow one(or two or three) big plant that could yeild a few ounces of bud.The only thing you'd have to veg for longer and if you don't have a separate room for that, you're gonna have down time in your yearly cycle that's going to waste (not to mention you'll probably run out of weed too).
...... so I gues the answer is between 1 and 108 depending on a lot of fucking things.
And I'd say at least 250w HID to make it worth your while. 400 would be better, but you'd need to be able to vent the heat really well. I wouldn't go lower than a 6 bulb HO T5 like this one (I know it's an 8 bulb)

Apologies OP, vague questions bring out the worst in us. We were recently duped by a bad seed (bmeat aka:feminizedmutt) and now we are overly cautious.
3 X 4 X 3 will limit your size primarily beacuse of the height restriction. But like others have mentioned, some cutting techniques can keep your plants low and maximize the space. How many plants you can grow is really about grower experience. I would suggest starting with 2-4 plants so you have backups in case something goes wrong. Lighting is up to you and your budget. CFL are cheap HID 250-400 watts is better but then you will need to consider how to remove the heat generated form the HID lighting.
Read more threads and do a web search for grow tents and closets that are your size. Good place to start. Come back if you need advice on more specific questions.

My first question (just one to start) is about these tents you fellows use. I'm old and very sensitive so be gentle now, lads. But why in fuck do you use these things? Stealth is not an option for answers. If you can put that damned thing in a room, then why not just grow in the room. When I was with a forest fire hot shot crew we would wait on the tarmac for fucking hours!!! Summer mind you (when these things usually happen).
Your gear is on you/with you. Have you ever tried going into a porta potty, a grown man wearing fire suppression gear and your pack - and tried to even stand up good to piss? Hot, stinks, leave the door open it matters not.
Why are you trying to take a living thing and work in a tent? For those who have all the gee whiz fans and humidifiers and all - I guess I'm too damned old. I simply think they create far more problems and cause tons of sales of unneeded junk.

I do understand why man is often forced to use them to simulate nature as closely as possible. But many build these contraptions with chillers, AC, heaters, humidifiers and then try to control the climate in a flimsy material structure within a larger structure. Not just control the climate but even reverse it for obvious reasons come winter. I should have said I think 90% of people using them would work less and have better smoke while spending less by shitcanning these things. They create their own problems like any tent. I have lived in a tent many times from the Corps on down to camping in the Rockies. They suck at best.
