OMG, that looks good too. Jela

Moe I have several Mulberry trees and I make natural jam and jelly as well as juice with them....and Pie :)
I couldnt even tell you what a Mulberry was. ... I do sort of remember a nursery rhyme about a 'mulberry bush' .Its nice being able to grow and consume stuff.

Before growing the MJ I hadn't ever considered trying. ........ oh, it just occurred to me that you guys call 'Jam', Jelly. .... and 'Jelly' you call 'Jello.' .... Anyways...

.. lol. its all good wholesome fun and probably the most legal thing I'll do in my life.

edit:

Did you call it 'Amish' bread because you cook it in a brick oven? ..... (hope that doesn't come across offensive to the Amish :?)

CoCo Hempyneers.

I'll be starting my first ever CoCo Hempys (2L) in the next few days. ... I threw out all the perlite I had. Can I get away without any in my res? If its any problem what-so-ever I would just buy it, but ideally would rather not.

Thanks, Moebius.
My only worry with the coir grade down low in the hempy res would be drainage flow at the hole and of course the size of the hole. Coco sucks up moisture for a while during watering, you wouldn't see an overflow at the hole till things were really saturated up top as with party cups. Then too, the coco could partially clog the hole (even with a screen on larger buckets) and restrict flow based on the longer "hairy" fibers that accompany the finer grind. An "all coco" container speaks of "holes on the bottom" for the drip to waste clan. Got some old rock-wool you could put in the res up to the hole? Even "reused" from your mapito? Hydroton balls are common too here.

Mulberries are kinda like Raspberries. They are either dark purple or a white, which is kinda cool when making jam and stuff, people are always fascinated in different stuff, so on my property I grow oddities, like white strawberries and white raspberries...I might try more Onions this year as I love them fresh...That's what I think I may add is Hempy Onions....I may try some vegetable plants in hempy this year, does anyone else plant anything else in hempy?

I think it's a common recipe the Amish use...I just bake outside in the summer as it's usually around 90 degrees here in the summer and too hot to bake in the house.

Cheers, will use some old 4" Grodan RW cubes. Will cut them up. also i'll use the worst of the Mapito RW.

Here's a fine lady that's Cali Connection's Blue Dream Haze. She's 23 days into flower and starting to bud up nicely. I topped them since I knew this sativa dom was going to stretch for the high heavens. She actually filled out perfectly thus far. Minimal fan leaves, but seem's very leafy in the flowers. As you can see in the below pic, she's taking after her Plushberry sister and purpling. So, Blue Dream, Qrazy Train, and Plushberry are all going to purple. This will certainly make for the 2013 Purple Hempy club!

Those are 'true' purple strains. ... As has been demonstrated several times, finding the Ken's GDP 'purple pheno' is as rare as hen's teeth. It doesn't bother me too much because its such a nice plant.

Nice find Dank. another entry into the 'purple hempy' hall of fame.

Rusty, you are rockin that coco bro....keep up the good work...it shows! I don't know if you cloned in another medium and then put in coco cups or if you just shoved your clippings straight into the coco cups but that's been my little secret when I really need some clones...(clippings straight into coco cups).
Hey Jela,, I clone in Root Riot Cubes and a Dome,, Once rooted they go up on the Donation Block, or into a Coco Cup.. Have not ventured toward the Straight into Coco thing just yet, but I would imagine its coming ;-)

Hey, while we are on the subject of Clones,, I have one for the WOH.

I continue to have this issue with a couple of clones in every batch I take, and cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. I have done my research, and found other posts of people with the same problem, but they didn't get a solid answer either.

I originally though it was Black Mold,, But I NEVER Mist my clones, only the Dome for the First couple of days, then vent, and the Dome comes off about day 4. They Definitely are not kept too wet, and the Humidity is barely breaking 60% with Plenty of Air Flow in the tent,, But no matter what i do, I continue to get this Mold Type issue on a couple of my cuttings. This will tend to get worse, but not really spread, and kill that part of the Leaves.. In MOST Cases, this Mold will then Dry UP, and the Clone will Pop Roots. I have actually been able to cup them after rooting, and grow them out. Some just get over taken with the Mold/Rot and shrivel and die.

Does anyone here happen to know what this is?? I am not convinced its Mold, but then, What do I know!

Any Help or Advice would be GREAT!!

Are you using rooting gel? I believe you should always mist your clones every 12-24 hours as well as the dome and also use ph'ed water when u mist. Keep the dome on until they root. Also make sure the utensil you use to take the clones with is clean.

Rusty - I don't have an answer but you could try taking slightly larger clones with more leaf. ... also I don't cut my clones leaf as this is a possible vector for pathogens to enter the plant tissue.

You could also make a week seaweed extract solution and dip the clones leaf before putting in the plugs. Seaweed is like a medicine with micro-nutrients and vitamins.

I hope you're not pH'ing or using ANY products, if you are, that's the problem. .. other possible issues could be strain or just a phenotypical trait expressed in that plant.

I doubt lack of airflow could cause an issue to clones. They need very little. In fact, when I clone 'Air flow' is the enemy.

Thanks Moebius! I tend to take both large and small clones depending on where I'm cutting. The tops tend to be the Bigger ones, and the clippings from the Lower portion of the plant tend to be a little smaller, but at least 2-3 nodes worth,, and I find your Seaweed Extract info interesting. This is something I will have to start looking into.

You mentioned not PH'ing the water,, so I am now curious as to why?

BOOM! I knew I had figured out the reason. ... This is when the plant tissue is at its most delicate. What you have I think is burn. ... I think a molecule or 3 from the pH down has caused phytotoxicity (burn). Thats what you see. Nute burn. ...IMO It like pouring antiseptic on an open wound.

NEVER NEVER pH the tap water. (DO NOT USE RO, distilled, evian, volvic or vitamin water.) Just tap water straight from the tap. I say this after taking many thousands of clones, so you know I'm not just talking off the top of my hat.

Good luck dude

Interesting!!!!!! That being said, my tap water is over 300ppm, Do you think this is just too much?

I can only say that it's how I have been 'educated' by so many respected online cloners, it's not that I'm reinventing the wheel or anything. ... There are so many 'myths' associated with cannabis, god knows how they start.

My mum was cloning plants in unturned plastic bottles(not cannabis) for years without propagators, hormone or pH down. Good rooting hormones work very well, propagators are useful. pH down is asking for trouble with clones.

Whats the pH on your tap water? is it good enough to drink? ...... would you drink your pH'ed water? at the cutting stage, they are just like babies.

pH down is a powerful 'bloom fertiliser' ... the babies don't want it. IMO

edit:

Its new/unused and I was going to sell it but I'm considering using my EC/PPM truncheon to test my tap water to compare. LOL ... I live in a major hard water area though.

I always ph my water for the misting of my clones to 5.8 and never had any ill effects using ph down. I think his problem is not misting them and leaving the dome off before they have even rooted. They arent supposed to be getting air until rooted

It just occurred to me ... Adding pH down (or up) doesn't 'lower' your ppm? does it? ... pardon me if I missed something Rusty.
Well I have been using RO Water with 1 Drop of PH Down and a couple drops of Super Thrive in a Half Gallon Container.. I honestly dont think its Burn, cause its not crispy. It really just looks like MOLD, but does not really act like mold. It takes a week or so before it dries up. It also does not seem to attack the Margins or Tips, just Across those LONG FINGER like Leaves at and about the Base. I Simply cant lock this one down and its very frustrating :wall:.. I took more clones a couple of days ago, and I can see this same thing happening to a couple of those. I am also going to try and pick up some seaweed extract today and see if I can get that to work for me.
