To the plant there is no difference between synthetic nutes and organic nutes. Nitrates are nitrates, they are the same molecules. You dont 'smoke' H2O2. It is just water with an extra oxygen molecule.

Synthetic nutrients are already in the form that plants use. Organic nutes are converted by bacteria into the form that plants use. In the end, they are the same thing.
 
I'm gonna make my own tea. Using oregonism XL which has myco and tons of different bacteria, aqua shield which has a ton more bacteria, actinovate and finally pure worm castings. Changing out res's and letting chlorine dissipate overnight.

Will use it on my Aero.
 
Here are some pics of my DIY aero system, bennie bucket...etc.

1. Bucket is foaming like mad. Haven't added the 'sock' yet. Will toss that in before I go to bed tonight.
2. Everything that goes to my sprayers goes through a 150 micron inline filter. Keeps everything pristine clear.
3. My aero are super simple. Only cost about $15 per unit for parts, not including tote. Simple PVC fittings. The sprayers are 1/4 arch. The elbows they are attached to are not glued in, so they rotate to the left or right to adjust for height of spray. Eliminates need to seal the lid, not a droplet escapes :) Running four totes on 1 365 GPH pump.
4. As you can see, 2 ML per gallon of H2O2 every day has been very kind to the roots. They started popping about five days ago. I guess Al B Fuct was right on H2O2!! No matter, I'm tired of being a slave to that shit.

Tonight there is no H2O2 in the system, just water. I put in an airstone to help dissipate the chlorine. Tomorrow I will filter my bennie solution then add the whole thing to the reservoir and see what happens. I'm running about 20 gallons in the reservoir. I turned off my chiller. Once it warms up I will set the chiller for about 72 degrees (shudder).

Will keep you posted as to how they react to the 'bennie funk'. I will know within a few days if it works.

This is a huge leap for me, I fear funk like no person who ever lived.:(

*on edit - Added the sock with a handful of worm castings. Felt weird doing it :P
 
The moment I put this shit in my filter clogged. Removed it. Let temp rise to 72. Will see tonight what happened. Fingers crossed. I put it in with healthy roots. Not waiting for funk to set in.

Just checked them. Some of the roots look slightly brownish, but is no damping off (dead strands) and some roots elongated. Good signs. It's sitting at 72 degrees right now. The plants had a growth jump, so I know there's no pythium. Will see where this goes. That Heisenburg dude said mid 70s. I'm on his low end. Maybe I will drop it to 68-70. Has been at between 72 and 74 for a couple days.

A couple that I stuck in a few days ago dropped roots. Not tiny hairs at first either, long strands. Interesting. Here are some pics:

The reservoir is foaming, as you can see. Added more tea today. I'm adding a lot of actinovate. The bacteria in the actinovate are called Streptomyces lydicus and don't compete with the pythium for food. They secrete enzymes that kill the pythium.

The Streptomyces lydicus can't be brewed, so I add it just before putting the stuff into the res.

He's right.

People need to stop thinking that they're 'smoking their nutes' or any other additive. It's stupid. Stop thinking it... now.

not sure why your posting ... you seemed to have tried everything yet you have this massive problem and fear of pythium while most growers have pythium handled back in growing 101. I do wish you luck in your coco grows maybe that will work for you. I'm doing ebb+flow with stones and coco chips, works for me since I can ensure everything drains off and nothing sits in water after the flood. Besides reservoir tear down cleaning I have NEVER used peroxide or bleach.

I dont think you read the whole thread. The rot hit me over a year in which I was being treated for hepatitis C, in which time I could barely walk. My grow rooms went to shit over that year and my whole basement became infected.

Just a heads up, filtering tea beyond 400 microns reduces it's effectiveness.
 
I just read the dwc tea thread, ok the first page. Im not doing over 100. Anyway sounds like a lot of trouble but to kill the awful slime i'd do it in a second. I tried everything in my DWC. Funny one of the first comments on that thread was about Hydrozyme. I took the hydro store idiots advice and it did exactly what heisenburg said it would. exploded.

That said I've have been dumping a teaspoon of Great White in 20 or so gallons for my areo cloner and it runs at 76deg for 21 days with no rez change and no slime. I dumped DWC because of that nightmare. Heisenburg hadnt started that thread yet and and great white hadnt been invented yet ;)
