Joint County Swat Searches

So a swat team consisting of St Joseph and Branch County shows up at this dudes house and searched his grow, counted, weighed and then left. They called themselves a "Scan Unit". No warrant.

I guess they was very polite... I would've slid my card under the door and told them to fuck off without a warrant..

Quick search of scan unit reveals a narc squad, mostly. Focus on Meth ...or sales...someone must have dropped name..it is my understanding they do not have access to state database.

There's a group out this way who does the same thing in swat outfits except if it's profitable they come back later after hours and clean you out

Does anyone else take issue with any government agency dressed, armed and trained exactly like military personnel showing up at private residences for random searches? Posse Comitatus?

Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

Never heard of this but I wouldn't let any pigs in my house without a warrant. I'd also be asking how the fuck they know I grow meds in the first place...

I've met the guy a few times, friend of a relative.. Even if someone dropped his name, they can't just come search you without a warrant and a judge shouldn't be able to write a warrant anyways without probable cause.

No warrant = Not legal

Too bad logic and common sense don't exist in our legal system.
What about if these military personnel "talk" the home owner into cooperating? A show of force such as a SWAT team is an act of aggregation by the government. I believe without just cause to use such aggression such actions by the government are criminal. There is a reason we call these specialized units in the military "assault teams", as it is their expressed purpose.

If you let them in it's a different story, once you open the door for them they can do whatever they want..

I don't answer door, if they have warrant they will let themselves. In.

Not that I know of Corso but I don't know the guy well enough to know. I would think if it was for meth they would have had a warrant.

Sounds like this scan unit started in the 90s n mostly targets Meth...if they start pulling this stuff on growers with weed only I may have leave St Joe county.

If they are after meth it's understandable but it is my understanding they showed up to check his grow. They were polite to him and shit, meth raids usually involve guns drawn, doors kicked in and a ransacked home..

while our paid goons and all of the sundry other parasites that got paid while this was going on how many Meth labs continued to operate???

Here's an Idea. Make legalization contingent on us caregivers cleaning up the meth/salts problem...A bounty system?? Buds for ballz??

I dont answer the door either. Not even for the UPS guy. If im not expecting company, I dont go anywhere near the door. I keep something handy, just in case.

If police knocked and identified as police, I would ask for a warrant without opening a door. There is a window near my door that they can hold the warrant up to for my viewing. No warrant, no entry. I would also state that any attempt to enter my home will be treated as a home invasion and treated as such, then end communication.

But if they had a warrant.. they would probably let themselves in. With my luck, they wouldnt announce that they were police either.
