Adding AK-47 extract to my current Cannatonic capsules would basically just be adding THC to them, right now they are roughly 15-20mg of CBD and 1-2mg of THC per cap.
There is quite a bit of information on Gray Wolf’s site about this http://skunkpharmresearch.com/
A research team based in Poland may have discovered that CBD is a major component of the flax plant. The Cannabis plant also makes CBD (Cannabidiol), a miraculous plant compound that demonstrates the potential to treat a wide range of diseases with virtually no side effects.

Thanks guys!!!

I really hadn't planned to continue this thread beyond my last grow but things have changed. I might not be updating this next grow as thoroughly as my last grow but it should still be worth checking out.

The current grow is already under way. The set up is the same as before expect this time i will be adding some UVB lighting to see how it effects potency. I will be lab testing again as always to confirm the final results. The line up this time will be 4 AK-47's, 2 Cheesequakes, 1 Cannatonic and 1 Jack the Ripper (Pink Lemonade Pheno). The Jack the Ripper was gifted to me by a fellow RIU member, and i'm pretty excited about it (thanks again man!). I also have 2 Fat Purple seeds that i just germinated, they will be grown for potential mother plants for my next grow and will not be flowered any time soon unfortunately.

The plants are a little over one week into veg right now, going to give them another week before i switch them into flowering.

As long as your UVB is a decent amount, and you don't toast the leaves or base of the plant with it.. you should definitely see a solid increase in trichome formation.. I can't wait to see what your high-end trichome producers do with even more UVB =)

That's the rumor, but I've never seen anyone back it up with any sort of proof. That's why i will be lab testing to see if cannabinoid levels have actually increased. I'm mainly going to focus on the AK-47 for this seeing that I have already lab tested the same cut already in 4 different grows, it also has a decent amount of Afghan in it's genetics so its ideal for a UVB test. I just ordered 5 26w cfl 10.0 uvb reptile lights last night, they should be here just in time for flowering.

Read all 15 pages... Cool read and enjoyed it thoroughly
Thanks!

Do you pop holes in lid to secure tomato cage?
Yeah, I drilled the exact size holes in the bucket lids so the cages plug right in with a nice tight fit.

I would highly recommend you only use it for the very last few days, anything before that may cause a decrease in yield based on what I've read in some other test journals from growers around the world, depending on the amount of UVB used, how close it is, and the ability of the strain to handle UVB (as if it were grown outdoors, as opposed to some strains that are specifically designed for indoors, with less UVB(statistically))

I keep my UVB at about the same level as my 1000w lamps. The 10.0 bulbs have way too much UVB radiation at anything closer than 15". I use it as a small supplement. It makes the fan and sugar leaves sheen with an oil which acts as a natural sunscreen. Any discoloration of the leaves after you see this sheen means you need to back the light off. Any rapid increase in amber trichs means you need to back it off or shut it off - depending on the strain.

I would like to get a few more lamps to use for both veg and flower - instead of just flower. My UV lamps run 6 hours out of 12 in flower, would be 9 in veg. They are timed to turn on at 1/3 of the light cycle and turn off at 2/3 of the light cycle to best mimic the sun's spectrum for the most natural light cycle possible.

I've read plenty of debate on exactly when to use the UVB lights and i'm going to treat it like the majority of information on this site, as bullshit. Nothing personal against anyone but i like to do the homework myself to draw my own conclusions. I want to see results, may that be cooked leaves, bigger trichs, increased potency, or reduced yield, i want to see them myself.

I'll be running the UVB bulbs the entire lights on photoperiod for the complete duration of flowering.

Another small update. The UVB bulbs showed up the other day, going to add them to the garden in a few days when i start flowering. My Fat Purple seedlings finally came up to the surface, i buried them a little too deep. Keep your fingers crossed for purple females. I had planned to flip the garden into flowering yesterday but i think i want to wait just a few more days, i'd rather have my plants a little too big than too small...

Looking good as always, those aks are big! If you vouch for the uvb bulbs when this is done. I will invest in them.

Another update, nothing too special though....

I thought i put the plants into flowering a few days ago on Tues or Wed but it turns out i only set one of my two light timers correctly... I didn't notice it until today so now today is day 1 of flowering for the AK-47, Cheesequake, Cannatonic, and Jack the Ripper.

My Fat Purple babies are still vegging away, nothing to exciting there either....

On with the pics!

Is the Cannatonic a cutting from your 1st Cannatonic or did you start a mother plant ?

I have a mother plant for all my strains, I take clones from them to do my actual grows with.

U gone run fat purp in dirt?
No, just hoping at least one of the two will be a female that I'll take cuts from to grow out in my dwc hydro system.

Looks great Huel!
Very interested in UVB results.
Thanks man, I'm looking forward to the results too!
