I figured since i screwed up the mix while filling my nutes and had to completely redo it all, this would be a good time for some pics of my setup-----I have a 2x4x5 tent, 600 watt(hps)flower(mn)veg, 6'' exhaust, carbon filter, 1 3speed fan, 1 120mm pc fan, 1 clip fan or under the canopy air, Im using a 30 gallon res with 10 gallons of nutes, 5' lift water pump, 2 air pumps, 2 3 gallon pots, 1/2'' tube, 1/4'' speghetti feed, Geneal Hydroponics 3 bottle flora series nutes, coco coir/hydroton 75/25 soilless, keep a strict 6.0 ph, this is a combo TOP FEED+DWC hydro system, gave me 522 grams last grow with og kush and armageddon, not bad for a small 2 plant setup, veg all my plants 48 days from seed, my plants are just starting week 3 of flower, just showed female hairs last week, white widow, northern lights!!!!!PS this is the first grow in the tent, before it was a closet the same size, but for all this it cost about $700IMAG0531.jpgIMAG0532.jpgIMAG0533.jpgIMAG0534.jpgIMAG0535.jpgIMAG0536.jpgIMAG0537.jpgIMAG0538.jpgIMAG0539.jpgIMAG0540.jpgIMAG0541.jpgIMAG0542.jpgIMAG0543.jpgIMAG0544.jpgIMAG0545.jpgIMAG0546.jpgIMAG0547.jpg

I like it. Few questions: do you veg in the dwc unit, or place the pots in there once they flower? And does your water pump T off to the spaghetti lines so it's freely recirculating water in the res? And finally, do you use a constant unrestricted current coming out of your spaghetti lines, or do you use drippers? Impressive yield man, the way you have it set up is already having me rethink my new cab idea.

Ok so what i do is have them start out, only a rockwool cube surrounded by hydroton, this and once the roots come out i fill with nutes and ad an air pump and veg my 2 plants in a speaker stealth box, (that i build and sell on ebay), 180 watt cfl, for 6 weeks then into the tent when the other crop is done, when i transplant from these, i go into a 3 gallon bucket, 1/4 full of hydroton ball, then 1/2 coco, and top mix of both, theres a timer for the top feed steady stream goes 15minutes on every hour lights on, then once in the middle of lights out this is during flower, during veg they get 24 hour light, and fed by hand same nutes for the appropriate stage,IMAG0548.jpgIMAG0549.jpg

thank you, its a proven system that works, i cant wait to show the harvest from this one, i hear widow and lights are both high yielders, especially topped, cropped, and hydro like my style so im really hopin for a pound, THE GOAL!!!!!
I agree... nice set-up you got there. You should be able to make a real go of this!
Good Luck!

522 grams is a gutsy claim with a single 600 watt bulb with that setup. Hope to see this grow journal in detail all the way to dry weight.

Are you saying the two plants in these pics are at week 3 of flower?

Haha, I'll check it out on ebay, just for ideas though :P Anyways, that's an interesting mix. You layer the hydroton and coco, I've always been warned not to use inconsistent mixes but I'm not one to argue with success, either. 522g for 600w is damn good in any situation. So when you feed your veggies you just hand water them through the top to fill the res, or you just give them a little water over the top every day?

Other than that man, that pretty much answers everything. Thanks! If you're going to journal your grow in this thread I'm subscribing for sure.

15 days now, and yes 522 grms jarred to smoke, im not lying nor do i have proof, nor can i say this WILL on this one only a goal, it did on the lat ne,and theres no reason why a 600 watt cant grow a pound, with one or two plants, go by the gram per watt though with hydro, got no reason to brag, only wanna show how a small setup provides a pound of cured weed!!!!! thanks for the input andsince i dont have a journal on this crop ill have pics of the rest of the grow, i just got hairs 4 days ago, i think i got about 6-7 weeks left on this one, never know though.

really not sur why you would question this if youre a grower you shold know the possibilities, look at the stalk and branch size, i keep them short through veg to, crop lst, tie down,IMAG0509.jpgIMAG0510.jpgIMAG0511.jpgIMAG0504.jpgIMAG0505.jpgIMAG0506.jpgIMAG0507.jpgIMAG0508.jpg

It's totally possible, not too long ago I got a pound off both my 600w lamps in my main flower room. By far one of my better grows, pests are a constant struggling issue here on the mountain, when I first moved here it baffled me! Always makes it tough to hit my marks. Anyways, my buddy used to pull a full pound by putting between 6-12 plants in a short little DWC system and scrogging them under a 430w agro, he got the idea off of RIU actually.

600w, is extremely efficient, and as long as you keep it the right height and keep your runs of bud within 18"-24" (with plenty of exceptions!!) you'll get great results. I've had fantastic results with everything for flowering, never tried CFL, but 400w, 600w, 1000w HID's, and different LED's too. 1000w def can deliver the biggest yields, but can also cause the most stress, so I usually only use it in my overflow room.

Thank you very much!!!!!i will be starting a journal with the new ones, mazar kush, and citical kush, im doing this to show it can be done, another to check out on youtube is ''ne1cangrow'' this guy also proves my theory in weight lights size and nutes, so i copied his recipe a couple times and it works, the diffenence i even beat his yieald by i belieave constant nutes whereas this guy hand feeds his lants even though theyre hydro, CHECK HI OUT ON YOUTUBE --- ne1cangrow

Checked that guys videos and he keeps it pretty simple. I've pretty much come to the same conclusion that this guy figured from the start. Most additives are unnecessary. Bloom Boosters, all that stuff, the only product I've ever seen a noticeable difference from is Shooting Powder by H&G, oh, and Awesome Blossoms by TechnaFlora. Even still, I'm a skeptic. I came to this conclusion right after buying a big bag of Kool Bloom dry formula for 60 bucks. I switch my nutes up between all my grows to find what I like, now I have way to many and am just trying to use it all up. Flora Duo, Flora Nova, House&Garden, Hydroponix, finally finished my regular GH products a few months back. Ultimately I'll stick with H&G because I just like it and so do my plants, no other reason.

I like the way you have yours set up a lot more than the way he does. I didn't watch all the vids, and don't know what he's using, but I know I'll be using 600w or 400w myself.

Anyways, I'm gonna try and setup a little grow like yours as soon as my 1200w garden is done, about 4 weeks. I'll be posting it up in a journal for sure.

I like the way you are training them, have u read the tutorials in my sig? I think they are right up your ally and will definitely help you maximize your canopy sq footage.

See where your lamps power cord goes through that overhead port in your tent? You need to go ahead and take those draw strings on the port and tie it up tight around that power cord. That is a big hole in your vacuum. You want as much air as possible to be rushing in through your lower intake vents, circulating up, through your plants, through your lamp, and into the carbon filter. That big hole up there is so much closer to your exhaust point and robbing your plants and lamp down below of a cold air portion.

Tie it up tight around power cords, ducting, and any open ports. This makes your tent suck up tight like a corset and gets a good whirlwind going on in there, making your already thick stalks, thicker. Why does that sound sensual? Maybe I'm over reading my own statements. Lol.
