If your blasting head stash only, i recommend using colibri brand butane, or a similar brand. Most otc butane is cheap, not filtered of impurities, and will ruin your batch. The cheapest i buy is vector quintuple plus filtered. A rule of thumb is; if its made in korea its probably garbage. They dont have the stringent gov't standards of regulation that we enjoy here and often label a product as 5 x's filtered or 7x's filtered and youll be lucky if its been filtered twice. Its completely legal to them, there arent any import regulations on purity or false advertising. The better the 'tane the easier to purge as well as the fact that the gas is a solvent that dissolves the trichome heads as well as other essential elements of the plant, i.e. Terpenes, waxes and oils, cannabinoids, etc... These are all essential to making a pure, CLEAN, and safe final product. You want to use good clean butane and either super sugar shake trim or take the small nugs you have left over that arent worth the eyestrain or effort of trying to trim and mix them. Leazve your trim/nug mixture in a paperbag, you need to follow this step as your first step in the BHO process. This allows your trim to become crispy and easier to break the essentials from the plant matter and be washed out with the 'tane and into your warm catch plate. I use an electric griddle to control the temp of my water. I use a 9x13 metal cake pan to transfer heat to my pyrex blast pan. I cut to fit parchment paper for the inside of the blast pan, you can blast rite onto the paper in the pan and it eliminates the mess, the cleanup, and mitigates the loss from the pan that you no longer have to scrape. As an added bonus to lining the pan you can take the parchment paper and cut it down to fit into your vacuum jar. Do not use wax paper because you can adulterate your finished product with wax from scraping and heat. If you can find a roll of teflon paper get it. Earl will not stick to teflon at all!!!
