One thing I always underestimated was the amount of air the ladies required. I have an individual fan for each plant, and one that rotates between the two....

That was my next question. What sort of ventilation would be required with an LED grow box. I was thinking a computer type fan would be sufficient, but judging from Beef's last comment... it's not. Which is a shame because I already had plans for rig up a solar powered fan.

My canopy is really thick, and I vegged these plants for a few months. They're quite dense, and therefore require a bit of extra ventilation.

I bring in outside air just by using a booster duct fan. $25 on amazon from led wholesalers. the i have 1 standing fan in the corner and one oscillating wall fan.

Yep, well not E, but A51. ETA is estimated... lol. They are just waitin on the new series to arrive and will be posted/released the next day. I have been shootin the shit about custom ratio's (older panels) with Eric damn near all day.
he's really been pushing their 4250k Helix. as their most efficient choice for the older series.
They do sound certain that the new series will be here before the end of March, this anticipation is breakin my balls man!

Anyone hear from EH and the new panels yet????................Active intake is not as important as an active exhaust, beef is right you should never skimp on oscillating fans=== bigger is better
Bringing in air brings down temps while its still cold outside and constant o2 and co2. But having an exhaust pulls out air and prevents pm. But takes away anything for the plants to use. I have both. But if I were to. do just one it would be an intake.
I check the site everyday watching the af600 drop in price. $1050 now.
Has he told you anything about par rating or foot print on the new ones. I have not emailed yet. My taxes are not here yet. So I want to have cash in hand before I make moves.

It's better, if you can only have one, to always have an exhaust rather than intake.
Creating negative pressure in the tent moves much more air than positive pressure.

Hey Beef. I follow your thread here and there although I haven't posted. I just wanted to add and not argue I find I'd rather have an intake if just one for the winter time anyway. lol. For the summer I would have to go the other way.
I run a 1000w in XXXL hood with no glass in a 4x4 tent with a 450cfm 6in intake pulling in outside cold air. Now I have to let my tent get to the temp. I want before turning the fan on other wise it won't heat up. lol. I need to get a fan speed controller or environmental controller.
If you have great air flow where ever you are then your situation may be different but I'm in one 10x12 room stacked with everything. When I walk into my room its like walking outside the air is so fresh.

In that case I would have a drier vent on passive going from the 'window', or where ever the fresh air was coming from, into the tent.... but I would still have only exhaust fans pushing air out, from inside the tent. The passive suction should still be more than enough.

A little HVAC knowledge can save you time and money in room design. I'm still working out the kinks on designing air-flow through my upcoming venture, but negative pressure recirculation will probably be my choice.
edit ... that AF600 has been tempting me all week. I told myself, "If it goes below $1K, buy that shit!" ... I think I'm going IndaGro instead, but haven't bought them yet.

Yup........It will passively bring in fresh air with an ACTIVE exhaust and what the hell are you gonna do about the smells with only an intake???

you can set the scrub filter in the corner. lay it on a shelf or hang it on the ceiling. a scrub filter you don't exhaust anywhere. It just cleans the air in the room. so anyone would have room for it. My buddy has 2 mounted on the walls of his grow and his is in a walk in closet.
Intake brings in fresh air. exhaust only pulls out air. intake produces much better results. At first I only had an intake for months bacause i had to have my ac fixed and i vent through that same wall that unit is in. Theres 2 ductings that go to the roof that bring in fresh air for the heater. i run my exhaust iup one of them. bring in air through the windiow via duct fans. Fresh air is awesome for plants.
