Yellowing from the bottom up, help!!!

    • Distilled water
      80his-60lows temps
      Foxfarm soil
      Trans-siberian, autoflower strain
      5 gallon smart pots
      400w MH/HPS
      Water PH - 7.0
      I was told that is better to start in a big pot and let the roots develop consistently instead of using little pots and building up with auto flowering strains. And i started the nutes at .9ml per gallon and stopped when someone told me that i shouldn't

      This is my second grow, i grew feminizedseeds (non-auto) BlackJack

      Please help!

yeah check out my grow journals. I used the same stuff, except last time i had bugs :/. But my tap water is at 220ppm, distilled at 30ppm the distilled water has nothing to do with why its yellowing im thinking nitrogen def. but i dont want to treat it for something thats not going wrong.

The mylar which my whole set up is made of allows the plant to get more light in the bottom foilage

whats difrnt this grow??? thats the first place to start. distilled water is lacking a little. most people that use ro or distilled water end up with cal mag issues but you are probably on the right track with thinking it is hungry

I use sensi A and B. A has 3-0-0 and B has 2-4-8. Should i just use the A at 1/4 str and see if that works? I didn't use distilled water but currently i need to calibrate my ph tool but Sensi is PH perfect which makes the PH at the correct level. My tap water says 4.0 PH but soil 7.0. So therefore i'm using the distilled so that i know the PH is 7.0 starting off.

I agree 100% with Mr E. Duck... classic deficiency symptoms when it starts at the bottom....
WHICH Fox Farms soil are you using hun? Some are better than others, but can be "hot" and the pH of their Happy Frog will lock it up real fast! Are you testing the pH of the runoff?????

no, if my tap water is 4.0 my meter is messed up. im using ocean forest, but ph perfect should adjust the ph correctly right?

And should i just use my sensi A to boost the N or should i find another way like epsom salts

Well guys when a plant starts off its little life those 1st 2 leaves are not true leaves but rather temporary solar panels until true leaves can be established. and to give extra time for root development .. Now those two first seedling leaves might stay healthy and remain on the plant for the rest of its life .. or the plant might relocate minerals like nitrogen out of the cells of the leaf to anther part of the plant were it is needed .. now some plants do this regardless some do it when put in a low mineral environment ... I would how ever recommend a tea spoon or two of fish emulsion per gallon for a little bit .. until you start to see rapid growth .

you should mix half strength B with full strength A, thats what I would do given the choices you have I would feed it that through the whole grow maybe up the B in bloom

If you are in FFOF as you stated later, you shouldn't be having a N deficiency with plants this young. I think you may be over-watering in those huge containers, which is the very reason many up-size containers. It is very difficult to water a contained(which is not natural to begin with)plant properly using your method.

And I would also concur w/the other poster regarding ditching that aluminum foil. You can get away with that on CFL grows, but an MH/HPS can cause hot spots.

im using a two cfls as well. but i used the mylar lst time and all i noticed was an increase in lower veg growth. Untill i see burn spots or lip curling im not gonna mess with my reflection set-up. Over watering could be a problem though as well as the two first leaves are unadulterated and some strains drop them displacing nitrogen to other parts of the plant. So i'm not messing with them untill i see further signs of stress in the lower portion of the plant, i will keep you posted with pics. Stay tuned

Your foil is also preventing normal evaporation,

Point made. Along with the larger pots and the foil, the water stays in the soil for longer than usual. I'm eager to see how turns out, i hope they will be okay.
