Tips for using MG soil?

not anymore than peat moss does, actually it does all worse than peat does. it is used for bulk, as a stretching agent. its crap, kind of like foxfarms, and both can burn seedlings if you dont know how to water properly, but that i wont compalin about. i think "free" nutes are cool, even though i use an empty soil and make my own.
You simply do not HAVE A FUCKING clue what you are talking about. Read all you want too, that a good thing. Just after reading something keep your mouth shut unless you actually know what you are talking about. If you want a cracker just ask. No need to show out to get a reward........

I've used MG MC Soil for a couple of years now. As you can SEE, the proof is in the pudding. These girls are about 2 weeks from chop chop, and they are healthy and strong. Trics are turning cloudy, buds are getting FAT, and my jars will be full of excellent, top grade smoke in a few weeks.

The 1 main thing I tell EVERY grower who uses this soil: NO NUTES UNTIL FLOWERING!!!!

(These pictures are actually about 1 week old. The buds are bigger and juicier than this!!!)
buds look good ....... leaves look like u still got some burn...... i saw other pics as well..............and more impt than any of this.....thank you for your service

I've learned not to get nervous about a little burn at this stage, and some of the leaves are just turning because of being sucked dry by the buds. Plants are drinking everything I'm sending down the pipeline, and growth has been optimal and progressive. I just checked my journal and I'm 10-12 days from cutting them down. I don't think I've seen an indoor grow yet where the leaves didn't have some burn and dead leaves by harvest time.

Glad to have served and would do it again. Semper Fidelis!!!

some leaves fading during flower is pretty much unstoppable but its not a good thing it would be better if your plant kept all its leaves............nute burn happens in mg theres no way around it.... everything i have ever seen in mg was burnt.............nute burn is not a good thing it slows your plants down u end up w smaller buds .....bottom line.......i know u have nice size buds but they would be better in a premium organic soil

I'm not sure how you can tell my leaves are burnt or lost in the pics you've looked at. Here's another picture (taken 5 minutes ago) that shows my plants still have most of their leaves, with very few gone and very little nute burn. I don't take leaves off until they are drained (sugar and starch is depleted) and fall off with just a slight tug. Also, my other plant is a sativa and sativa's don't have near the leaf content that an idica has.

This plant is about 10 days from maturity and she has plenty of healthy leaves to fatten up the buds.

I have seen plenty of plants with nute burn that were grown in organic soil and hydro.

nute burn is obvious when u have seen it a million times...............i c a bunch of nute burn......it would be better if none of your leaves burned and only like 3 faded...........i hope they fatten up alot.... honestly i dont believe these are the best of your buds ive seen and i wouldnt call this a success w a 400......................growing in about everything else u have a choice and your plants burn because u did something stupid... in miracle grow it happens when u add water............shits the devil

OK, fucker, I read through this Thread and now I catch your drift; you're a fucking MG hater! I show you proof that MG works and you say you can see nute burn and a lack of healthy leaves, I take a fresh picture that shows my plant is healthy, with plenty of leaves and little burn that you can't even SEE, and you still have this vision in your HEAD that my plant is suffering. Well, they are doing fine and the end result will be incredible! Maybe not the best, but still incredible.

Like others have said on here, show us some PICTURES of your plants a week before harvest! If you don't have any pics, you're nothing but a bullshitter!! And, you haven't addressed what I said in my previous post: I've seen nute burn in every kind of grow situation, including organic and hydro, and before harvest this is a common occurrence. Maybe not the best or correct occurrence, but nevertheless, a common one.

EVERY SOIL OR GROW MEDIUM HAS ITS NEGATIVE PROBLEMS!

this is my green crack tenth day in veg. she was a clone from local dispensary. She is in MG moisture control and hasn't had problems and she is my 1st plant. I know not to add any nutes until she tells me she needs them. I probably wouldn't put a seed in MG because I'm a newb but others have done so with success

do u c the way your older leaves are getting really really dark and folding under?............. even your new growth is 2 dark ..........its too much miracle grow

I used MG organic soil and perlite for about 2 years when I was starting out. It worked okay. The plant in my avitar was grown in it. I learned how to grow using it. After learning a bit, I got results similar to Guitar Man. It's not premium quality soil for sure, but to claim that it is responsible for massive nute burn or that it kills plants is just hyperbole.

This is a newbie forum. I would think that most people start growing with MG or something similar. Just like most people start with bagseed and CFLs rather than White Russian and 1000 watts of HPS. Telling newbies that MG soil is toxic is irresponsible. It'll lead them to get things like FFOF, a soil which, unlike MG, is too hot for them.

I don't understand the particular vitriol for MG. Maybe people blame their early growing failures on it? But it's adequate for growing MJ for sure.

I actually do see the leaves that are too dark which means too much nitrogen, don't see any burn though. As far as my grow not being perfect there are plenty who use all the most expensive stuff and their stuff looks about the same as mine (talking about average growers). Never said my grow is perfect just saying I managed not to kill my plant with MG and its my 1st one so a more person should be able to do just fine. I think I will still use MG for my next plant I will just cut it with non nutrient perlite. besides my plant as a clone went directly into MG and I see stuff like this happen to smaller plants using fox farm

for MG users how long does it normally take for the nutrients in the soil to be depleted? It says up to 6 months feed but most likely depletes quicker.

OK Woody you troll.
Here's my last plant, at 28 days from sprout, started in MG moisture control with 40% MG perlite mixed in, which if you know anything like you claim, also has nutes in it.
I know you're going to say I have too much N, but that is because I was FEEDING the bitch since day 25.

She grew from this at day 21, when I transplanted from the Solo cup.View attachment 2561589
I think everybody in this thread has come to the conclusion that you are an MG hater simply for the fact that you cannot master it.

And, here is proof that seeds can be germed in the exact same soil mix.

This is the Golden Rule with MG MC Soil; NO NUTES UNTIL FLOWERING! I learned this the hard way and when I applied this to my grow, the plants responded well. When I hit the flowering stage, I slowly implement bloom nutes and blackstrap molasses. The buds on my 1 plant are so heavy right now, yesterday I had to stake the plant up. I'm using an advanced topping technique from Uncle Ben's Thread under, Advanced MJ Cultivation. This will be my best harvest so far.
