was thinking it is a good deal even with amazons inflated prices.

It is just folded aluminun with a socket tacked on. If you are going to be running a 600w in a small space you'll probrably want a fixture with a duct flange. That way you can pull air across the bulb and remove the heat from the source.

Cheap price. My only concern would be buying an unsealed fixture for heat removal. If you got the cubic space, that would be a nice upgrade for you.

ive heard good reviews of the apollo 400 and 600w kits they sell on amazon, there about that price maybe cheaper. they have cool tube kits as well which are much better for small areas such as in grow tents

I got the apollo 600 cool tube,both bulbs hangers and timer,180.00 shipped at amazon.

i have the ipower 600 i got the hood though for 220 i think, been running it since august.. i just ordered another one should be here monday with a cool tube for $172 and some change, same ballast from amazon.

Half those 'local' grow shops have websites. The other half have websites AND sell via Amazon. AFAIK, Amazon doesnt sell hydroponic equipment themselves but provide a shop front for others to sell their wares.

I'm NO fan of capitalism but it seems churlish to roll your eyes at someone considering using Amazon when the very computer you/we use is produced by 'capitalist' companies. ... wheres the consistency?

Ok, back on subject.

Nothing fucks up a good light like a cheap reflector. Don't be like those kids who try to grow mexican bagseed using cfl's in a cardboard box. Get some decent gear that might not burn your house down.

I got the Ipower 600 watt set-up on Ebay...with the glass-pane 6 inch reflector..not the cooltube..for 230 with no shipping..came in 2 days. Been running the light 24/7 with no problems other than ifyou turn it off, you have to let it stay off for about 5 mins for it to come back on. I started using the timer and the light went on and off without a hitch. I registered for their customer service warranty...the review of their warranty by others is OUTSTANDING. Lights are lights is what I've figured out.
I have a hydro store 2 blocks away, alot of the stuff is comparable price wise to online, but as far as HPS set ups and ballasts...TWICE as much as ordering. Maybe once you have a couple harvests and you can afford to go down there and blow smoke up each others asses with the snotty college kid that works there that doesn't know shit, and the owner who is usually there with a shit attitude as well... like there's a secret handshake or something. I got my Pro-mix for 45 bucks so I didnt have to order it, but I'll only be going to the hydro shop for emergencies due to their inflated mark-up.

Kinda like the head shop, pot smoking is cool now..so now the bong I got for 175 5 years ago, is 550. WTF..is glass that much more to make now, or is there just a market for it now. Exactly. My shit better never break, because Ill be smoking out of an apple before I ever by a bong for that much.

Shit, if my lights ever break...Im bribing the kid at Planet Fitness to let me make some disappear from the gym. I friggin look up while Im benching, and I see a sea of HPS bulbs and dome reflectors. I just thought about dropping the lights about ten feet, and filling the whole place up with a sea of green. Exercise is no match for a 3,000sq ft grow! : )

Couldve gotten you a 1000w system, same brand for 20 more. 6" air cooled hood, hps + mh light, ratchet straps,timer, 1k dimmable ballast for: $198 shipped. Oh well, good luck

jesus christ dude wtf? being an american in business for myself i kinda like capitalism. most of the shit sold on amazon is sold by guys like you and me just like ebay. it just happens to be where i bought a couple lights it`s not like the only website i buy from. i buy my dirt from a local greenhouse and anything else i can get. i live so far off the path they have to truck in sunshine so i don`t need to hear any shit on where i buy supplies. i`m not spending $75 on gas to take a 4hr round trip drive to pay twice as much. sorry if you don`t like that but too bad.

I wish I had a bigger space to support a 600 or 1000 watt fixture. I'm looking at LED, but there so damn expensive.

I own the 600W Ipower..and love it! I went with that over the Apollo because I liked the hood vent over the cool tube...
($220 and free 2Day shipping w/ Amazon Prime...can't beat it with a stick!!)

.....dont let anyone tell you that the 600W was a mistake!! The 600W is more efficient! They put out more lumen per watt than the 1000W.
Lots of seasoned pros only buy the 600W HID lights because of this efficiency.
