they make hood hangers, they are built for this reason. I just chains, I can lower and raise very easily, and very cost effective. Looks nice and legit to.

all i use is bungy cord....it works just as well as a chain that cost more, plus i alread had some laying around the house so it saves me a few bucks and works fine......just rig something up, it dosent halft to look good as long at it works

3mm vectran (It would hold up your car.) into a cam cleat with a poly cover spliced in for the cleat part.

hit up your local hardware store (aubochon, ace, truevalue, ect...) and tell them you need chains to hold up flurescent fixtures in your garage. They will be able to cut them then-and-there to the sizes you need. If you have a 10' ceiling you'll want all chain lengths to be 8.5' or so... remember they have to be very close to your seedlings if you use fluros, and less so if you use MH or HPS. In the same store find where they keep all the misc nuts and screws. That isle will contail "screw hooks." This method is extremely efficient and cost effective.

With a ten foot ceiling I can relate to your issue. I'd go with pulleys up high and cleats to lash off the lines down below. By the way I would surely love to have your height problem. Cheers.:peace:

I use chains with an industrial sized carabeener. you can cut your own size of chain at Home Depot or Lowes in any width of link you want. then just buy a carabeener (the screw kind not the crap clip kind) and adjust as needed! :)
