Alright before we continue let me clarify I am a tad stoned and so was raking my mind about something kind of silly..

Is your HPS bulb supposed to face a certain way while in the hood/reflector? Really nooby question lmao, but I am assuming its even light distribution all the way around the bulb?

I am just trippin but need some clarifying. I was looking at my reflector earlier and the heat from my 600 watt hps burned the top of the aluminum reflector a bit on the inside above the bulb.. not sure what to think of that which brought me to where I am now wondering if it has to do with light bulb placement.

Does the metal part face up or down? Here is a pic of the bulb im using

The "metal thing" is just the frame that holds the arc tube. In an ideal world the frame should face away from your reflector. Honestly though, the difference is very very small.

Sunmaster is not a knockoff brand. And OP its most important to make sure the bulb is screwed snuggly in the socket. No matter which why the arch tube support points, that dosent matter.
