Do you trim first, or dry first?

it probably sounds like a weird approach for a lazy person, but i trim mine twice. i do a shitty rough trim job when they're wet, then i hang them, then i give them a final trim while i'm cutting them into jar-sized pieces. trimming them correctly the first time around is so tedious. i just get most of the leaf off so they dry well, then when they're dry it's easier to just snip off little pieces as i toss them in the jars. waiting till they're dry for the first trim is a bitch. it's like peeling a really obnoxious banana.

Me too trim hang then final trim and into the jar.

I cut the whole darn thing leaves and all.. let her dry as full of a plant as I can.. then jar once the stems crackle..

1styear I grew I trimmed on the plant before I hung.. (f'ing newbie I KNOW) but it happens and well.. it wont happen again the smoke and flavor was fine but way too much work..

I trim by hand place on drying racks, jar and burp.
But I do have this that will trim almost as good as hand trimming.

This is the bud (Train Wreck)I did in the video untouched by any thing but the machine and some reveling pics of it.
I also did all my trimming in my front room and it didn't make a big mess.

I've done it both ways, but after reading a perfect dry is more important than a perfect cure I dry first. I cut the entire plant and hang upside down for 2 weeks. Then I start trimming. Its usually ready for use right then, no need to wait a month for cure.

Thanks dude. Think ill skip the trimmer and stick to scissors. Curiousity tho.....do you lose much resin to the grate or is it fairly easy to clean?

i dry, then cure, then trim. its easy to break off flakes of leaf when its already cured, it slows down the drying period but improves the quality of the cure(in my experience) and makes for better smoking harvest. if the plant is REALLY leafy then yes, i will trim then dry and cure.
