Newbie here, need A LOT!!! of growing advice, tips, etc.

Okay, so I live in Eastern KY, and I know a little bit about growing but not too much. What kind of potting soil should I use? I cannot use the soil at my house or anywhere around my house because it is nothing but rock. How often should I water them? How much water when I do? I also have a natural spring right beside of my drive way, should I use that water or tap water? There is just so much stuff I need to know, and please if you can keep from it try to dumb it down for me. I am not dumb or stupid or anything I just don't know all of the proper terms for anything basically. Oh yeah and I am growing outside.

​go with a kush on your first run then as they can be a hardy plant and can cope well if you mess up......but like i say read read read ;-)
 
go to sea of seeds, check out stuff like dna's kosher kush, or og18 are some good ones..
or some of rare dankness' og's are pretty nice too imo.. :D
