Easyryder in DIY CFL Growbox

I've got an old 30x lying around somewhere.

Im going to pull apart an old CD drive on the weekend and pull out the lens to use as a macro for my phone as per this thread:

awesome, cant wait to see the photos! should've known you would have some macguyver type solution, u grow plants with bannanna peels and worms and then photograph them with cd players, meanwhile I use nutes from a bottle nd take photos with cameras... you rock!

woo! for some reason day 50 seems like some sort of milestone - no idea why or what it means but happy enough to get this far with no problems and a healthy plant.

i cut a small sample of lower popcorn bud off her tonight (sorry girl, hope you dont mind) and will give it a try later tonight.

dont know if you can tell from the photos but the buds are getting noticeably thicker every day

She looks pretty big in those pictures. Do you have her measurements? I'm currently growing an Easy Ryder as well and I'd be interested in knowing how much space she will take up (it's my first grow so I really have no frame of reference).

I havent measured her, but at a guess she is the width of the box and just over half the height - so that puts her at 60cm (23inches) wide X 70cm (27inches) high

However, im using a fairly large pot size - 25litre (7 gallon) - so that will allow her to grow larger than usual

smoked the small sample i took, and it worked but very heady and makes my heart beat a little fast - there are still way too many clear triches. im aiming for about 10% amber - 90% cloudy. hopefully get that in about 2 or 3 weeks.

will crack open an old cd drive tomorrow and make a macro lens to check it all out a bit closer

so i got around to ripping apart my old ps2 and getting the lens out of the dvd drive. the photos came out all right for a homemade macro lens - really hard to hold my phone still enough to get the focus right though.

from what i can tell there are still a lot of clear triches, with approx 30-40% cloudy - so i'd say still three weeks to go which is about right according to the breeders timeframe of 70-75 days.

gave her a good feeding of worm wee, powerfeed and seasol tonight. the banana peels i chucked in there a week or two ago should be releasing their goodness slowly around now, so hopefully the girl is getting a good K dosage from everything

thanks easypound. i think when your only doing small personal type grows CFL can be a decent alternative to HPS or MH

noticed a change in the smell today, its hard to describe but its a thicker sort of smell.

took a shot to try a give a perspective of the plant size - the grow box is 120cm high x 60cm wide

more red hairs coming up and the smell is starting to get quite strong now

ive cut right down on the food and molasses for the last week. dont think you need to flush for organics, but i dont want to influence the taste with worm wee, or that fish emulsion stuff

Cheers. Probably bigger than mine's going to get, but it's nice to have a max estimate.

The smell seems to change quite often, in my experience. For me, I've had at least 3 different smells throughout the last 5 weeks. It's quite interesting.

Also, it's looking damn amazing!

got out the dvd lens again - there are a lot more cloudy triches and i even spotted one or two amber ones. im thinking there is about a week to ten days to go.
