CNN Political Reporter Shannon TravisWashington (CNN) - Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky on Tuesday waded deeper into an issue fraught with political opportunity and risks: further clarifying his ideas on immigration reform by laying out steps to eventually provide permanent legal status for the millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S.

First things first he says, secure the border. He also makes the point that we seem to think it has to be either amnesty or deportation, while he proposes a probation period.

He still wants to limit the amount of immigrants getting work visas every year. I think the majority of republicans will be OK with it, the border security being the selling point. There will still be some of the old guard and protectionists that will not be happy. These people live on both sides of the aisle.

do more dumbass GOPers need to be reminded how about half of all illegal immigrants get here?

how about the existence of ladders? has the GOP considered that ladders exist?

Ladders will be schedule 1 controlled devices because all people use'm for is to get high. The Medicinal Climbing Aid Acts in various states will be brought down hard with a small push from the top. cn

I am against boarder fences and boarder security and check points, I am indefferent on Rand although i am glad he took some kind of a stand against drone strikes on citizens, I really respect Rands father Ron Paul, but that doesn't mean i feel the same about Rand, time will tell if he is worthy of respect.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I'm just telling you why the right will still support Rand Paul.

I'm not a huge fan of borders myself and feel that as an earthling the earth should be open to me as long as I don't infringe upon your rights. I don't want to secure borders, I want to open them. I am however a bit inconsistent in that I want them documented before they come here. I think the vast majority of law abiders would do this if they could. I realize I could never run for office.

Indeed, I can hear them now, "Step ladders are a gateway drug to extension ladders..." :eyesmoke:

RAND PAUL SUPPORTERS RUN AWAY RaND PAUL RECONSIDERS OPINION

Rand Paul attempts to clarify position on pathway to citizenship

Posted by
CNN's Ashley Killough(CNN) - Sen. Rand Paul reiterated Tuesday afternoon that he's not calling for a new pathway to citizenship in his immigration proposal, but he's not planning to stand in the way of any undocumented workers who want to eventually become citizens, either.
"It doesn't get you in a green card line. It gets you in a line to enter the country legally to become a citizen like everybody else who wants to come from around the world to be a citizen," he said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

lol.

jeb bush and now randy pawl.

it's so funny to hear GOP figures talk about how they need to be more reasonable on immigration, and then every elected official and hopeful has to whistle a different tune.

good job, GOP.

How about running 10,000 volts through it and then we can appoint you to test it out..Fucktard
On top of that we should insist it be modeled on a Israel multiple layer fence. You don't
see many people making it past those. We should also pass a law that all people in the
border patrol should take lie detector tests to prove they want to do there best to enforce it.
That of course would eliminate the current Obama appointees and especially that open border nut napalitano.

A liberals view of a fence is a 3 foot piece of barbed wire.

Bucky how many make it over the Israeli fences... I supose those fences around prisons are a waste of time as well.
Whenever fences are discussed all the open border groups and other scumbags start to cry no it wont work..
They are of course scared as hell it will..LOL

Good suggestion Bucky. I am surprised that you would recommend burying it a couple feet below the muddy bottom of a wide water filled ditch directly under the middle of 3 30 foot high fences.

Fucking retards. If you put a military man in charge with orders to close it rather than the radical open border Napalitano in charge the border would be completely closed practically overnight.

Now of course Joe Arpaio should be in charge of the arrested illegal alien work force kept in the work camps and used for labor.
That is if Berry has not released all of the alien felons from the jails and prisons yet!

I suppose those fences around prisons do nothing....pure stupidity again Bucky

lol.

so you spend all that money on a thousands of miles long fence and you've not even corrected half the problem because guess what?

shovels exist, and people use them to dig tunnels. :dunce:

nice sentiment at the end there. that should play well in a general election, right? put the guy who overlooked sexual abuses cases and wasted millions of dollars in taxpayer money in charge of running a slave labor ring of illegal aliens.

and you probably wonder why people think you're a bigoted, racist tool.

the GOP hasn't heard of ladders, insulation, or shovels.

this is funny.

Fences keep people IN as well as keeping them out. Is it possible we agree that a border fence is a waste? I swore on a stack of mustachioed hooker manuals this would never happen...I honor and respect Geronimo and his pony.

no, we agree on a few things due to the intersection at our core: classic liberalism.
