Took down my grow.

I had 6 plants in a grow tent vegging at about 3 nodes. My landlord moved into the suite above me and kept complaining that he could hear a slight buzzing down where my closet is since his bedroom is right above it. That was my exhaust fan. I cant turn the exhaust fan off because it will smell too bad without the filtering. I already had it inside a semi-soundproof box but it was still causing slight vibrations. I told him i had an aquarium down there and that i would try to fix the problem. I tore down my grow the next day. Im too paranoid living in fear now.

Im packing up my gear and putting it in storage untill i get a better place to live. Man it hurt to tear those babies up.

Did you think about trying a fan speed controler? At a slower speed it will keep the noise down.

Damn......That sucks, I super feel for you bro!!

What you should learn from this....Become your own landlord

Fan speed would have made it too hot. It was running full blast with a Carbon filter-Cooltube-fan-exhaust 400MH setup and holding between 75f-78f.

It was my first grow too. I had jordan of the islands god bud x og kush. But it was too much stress living in fear. Also problems with my old lady i might be getting divorced. I diddnt want the grow to be a leverage point on me.

I feel ya, I just sold off 12 plants for 200 because the risk became too much, cant have cops kickin in my door, shooting my dogs and taking me to jail because they think I am a "doper" (cop's words) my card expires before I could harvest and I'm not gonna be able to grow after that anyway so atleast with new card I can still possess and smoke right?(crying inside)

Hopefully you'll still be able to smoke thru the divorce, good luck missing link ;)

that is a damn shame. i truly feel your pain, i grew for a couple years indoors and had to quit when we paid the house off and had to have a reappraisal for the insurance, then moved my gf and her kids in shortly after and all my growing space is gone. its been years since i grew and i miss it sooo bad. i have been considering outdoor grow this year but have almost no outdoor experience

good luck either way

imo if you have the right weather your outdoor grow will be 10X easier than any indoor(even in soil), prepare the ground with pearlite or whatever you need, water deep and infrequent and enjoy, Also the cold nights around harvest(even in AZ) will bring out all the colors! I think it was cervantes who said we all wish we could grow outdoors, only thing is bugs if thats a problem where you are, I have a feeling the biggest threat would be the children but hey good luck and never give up

I would of gone out and gotten a 45 Gal salt water fish tank.. It would cover alot of things you do like sound, water buckes and electricity.

3 nodes? Well, at least you didn't put that much time into it. What strain is stinking that bad after 3 nodes?

 You sir, are the first RIU member to demonstrate to me real intelligence. I applaud your decision to wait until conditions improve.

why not just move your fan and use longer ducting? your landlord sound like a right bitch batter him and beat him with your plants

If it's just vibration, some rubber bushings would help. If it's the fan, then you'll just have to find a way to run it more quietly. Either way, good call on waiting; no point in having her able to dangle threats about getting your grow busted over your head at a time when people are prone to get emotional.

HAHA i actually did buy a 10 gallon fish tank that same day. I had origonally planned to use it as cover(and i will in the future), but i got cold feet and just tore up the grow anyway.
