Approaching 6 weeks of flowering... (6th week begins on Friday)

If it weren't for the amount of NW I have (still too much! next generation will have a lot less/none...), I probably would have grown her too tall. She fits just under the light in this space...

Bleached buddy...

Looks like I may have some home grown for 4/20, awesome...

Thank you kindly, for a heavy majority of my light building process is attributed to your knowledge and generosity to share so. My appreciation belongs to you!

On another note, the capacity for my organic growing techniques is substantially greater than the results I have. The soil recipe my plant is in is only around 20% complete (not to mention foliars/improved EWC and compost/enzyme tea/BIM/LAB etc...) and my attentiveness to the plant has been lackluster at best... What I mean is that I am no where near optimal conditions... I'm working with a space (above the pot) that's only around 15" after all... I can't wait to grow some plants unrestrained!

Consider also adding some reds / deep reds ...
Your light needs some "filling" there ..
Specially at such "low " flux levels ...

But still...Amazing buds !

nice buds. I would love to see some pics of the whole plant and lights if thats possible.

Don't listen to him, he can't even build a panel without burning it up 4-5 times. Hahahahahahahahahahaha

OK, seriously, how much extra red 10%, 20%...? AND, where to put them- as Hilo is using the Merkaba Cluster (6 @ 1w chipsets), would a separate circuit with one 3w red (could consist of 3 red nms) placed in the center of each cluster be sufficient?

Lol Pet! I have to admit I burnt like 3 diodes on my cheap LED panel trying to put it together, it's a good thing I bought extra for exactly that!

I was thinking of tossing two NW diodes and replacing them with DR.
CAM00070.jpg
Using the above picture as reference, the three diodes lined up in the middle (horizontally) are the NW. The two outside diodes will be switched for DR, possibly all three of them? I'll most likely end up leaving it as is til I can get serious in a couple months...

Moreover, (when I scale up) I want to disperse the 13 diode cluster a bit. Perhaps adding 1 more diode and making two 7diode clusters instead(DR mid, 6 surrounding WW... Also note (if sticking with CREE) get the 2200k diodes...). The question that really comes to my mind is: Are clusters worth it?

Thank you, friend. Underneath shows the space I'm working with.

Looking great brother HR. Taking it back to the 90s with luniz and funkdoobiest. Went diggin through the crates to find this one for you

How'd you know Puff? While I was on vacation, my brother-in-law played that song and I never found out what it was. Thanks for that one, amigo!

One of my ideas was to have one 3w WW in the middle, maybe on a dimmer, but def on a separate circuit.

Seeing how well your single cluster is doing just tickles the piss out me.

I had a diagram that I found on line but for some reason I was unable to C/P and deleted it, but it would be the equivalent of a ufo, but hexagonal. This would probably require 15 rows/columns

If you line up multiples of 5 STAGGERED rows & 5 columns you automatically have Merkaba

I'll answer with math equations ....
(Typ .Output power of : Reds "630"/ "660" =350-450 mWatt , >95CRI <3000°K WW=350-450mW , ~5000°K NW=400-450mW )

WW= ~2 * Reds
^^^^(...of which some have to be Deep Reds 660 .If not all of them
.Depends on WW red peak .
If peak is at 600-620 ,then some reds & deep reds are needed ( 1:1 is great .. ) ..
If WW red peak is at 620-640 ....Only deep reds . )

If NW is wished to be used as extra Blue/green/yellow 'boost' then :

a) It should have a different emission peak chip than WWs have ..
To 'broaden' the blue spectrum ...

b) NW = Reds / 2

Simple math ,there :-P ....

By now ,you already know, that this kind of led/spectrum balance is my fav one ....
It depends on personal taste -Quality vs yield - ,rather than " strains" grown ,if NW are going to be used or not ...

And from total output power / surface ...
(...and height ..In analogy with led half angle emission and way of growing /available space/height limits ...)

If ,a lot of leds =>lots of flux utilised / wished for certain space i.e 100 Watts are way powerful for one small pc box ,
yes ,
it's a pretty nice idea to use some NW ....

Edit : Ok ...Shortly ...WW:Reds:NW ...4:2:1 ...Somewhere there ...

I hope as much... Here's one that I couldn't get to upload earlier...

Pardon me PF, I didn't see your post. I need to put some work in to my next design, it will be my main-stay and my only means of providing myself with something to smoke on... Thank you for always having an idea to digest.

You're very welcome.

We're all approaching how to grow efficiently with highest quality, just from different backgrounds. I am not a scientist, but I love learning about hidden energy, and somewhat of an intuitive. When I started reading about structured water and sacred geometry, it hit me that laying the diodes out in Merkaba SHOULD bring a little sumpin extra to the table, and may well act like a turbocharger.

Although I was shouting it from the roof tops, you are the only person to run with it. Kudos

One of my other ideas was to put a oscillating crystal in the center, but better than that would be to build crystal oscillators (think small transistor radio) that goes inside the tent. Basically a crystal oscillating curcuit + a small speaker + a tuner to adjust frequency for either Indica or Sat. Imagine that!

i'm been watching this grow for some time now and I have to say that you've done an excellent job brother!!.......With miniscule wattage use also. + rep

Just to give an idea of what kind of soil I want and what I'm using (also notes for me...):
Currently:
-Roots Organic Original
-Insect frass
-Homemade compost/EWC
-Recycled coir/soil/aeration (perlite, vermiculite)

Goal:
-Sphagnum peat moss
-Pumice/Rice hulls
-Compost/EWC (my own)
-Bentonite (Screened clay)
(Above ingredients are the base mix, below are what I'm amending them with.)
-Alfalfa Meal (optional)
-Neem Meal
-Crab Meal
-Kelp Meal
-Sul-po-mag (Langbeinite)
-Glacial rock dust

I also want to incorporate the use of Lacto B., Aloe, Mycorrhizae, Enzyme teas and various fermented plant extracts. A living, recyclable soil that won't be disturbed (no-tilling). I attribute this "recipe" mostly to a few, very knowledgeable, guys over on another forum (eye-see-mag). Oh yea and a secondary shot:
