Fish fertilizer not good?

My plant hasn't grown in a couple of days so I was looking to add some N. fish fertilizer is more readily available than Kelp (would have to order online) so I grabbed that. It wasn't until I purchased it that I read all the mixed reviews on it...questioning whether it is truly organic. I bought some blood meal too but based on what I've read it's not really good for brewing teas. I wanted to use something that would have a pretty quick release since ive got autoflowers. Would I be good with that fish fertilizer or should I take that shit back and just top dress with the blood meal?

PS- that fish fertilizer shit might be the worst shit I ever smelled in my life.

What brand is it?

Really, it is probably fine. Fish and certain other forms of sea-life (squid) have good nutrient content and they contain other organic compounds such as proteins\amino acids and carbohydrates that microbes like. I've been using the General Organics Bio-Marine, which is a squid product.

BTW Don't use the this kind of stuff in AACT, except maybe in really small doses.

I top dress with the blood meal and the plants love it. Use little amounts like 1/4-1/2 tsp a gal it's easy to get a nitrogen overdose with it s take it light and easy.

its Alaska brand. I've seen people that liked it, people that didn't. Thanks for the heads up. I gave the plant worm and molasses tea before but I wanted to add more N to give it a boost. Question..hope it's not a dumb one..but would I be doing myself a disservice top dressing with blood meal then watering with Worm and molasses tea? Or would that be okay?

Alfalfa is my new N source of choice. I'd give them some alfalfa tea as long as they aren't in full bloom yet (alfalfa contains some plant growth hormones best avoided in bloom).

Or... Just give them the Alaska Fish. They'll like that, too.

amen to that!
learned that last time round so i know for this time :)
N = 13.25%, P = 1.0%, K = 0.6% (bloodmeal)

That would be triacontanol. I feed alfalfa teas as a foliar in veg. I make my teas with EWC, Bunny poo and kelp using alfalfa tea instead of plain water. You CAN foliar feed in flower, it's just a pain in the ass as you have to be careful to get the undersides of the leaves, and not get the buds wet. Best just to water with the teas at that point. I've never seen any detrimental effects from triacontanol during flower. Hmmm.........Gotta research that.

Just be sure you don't top dress with too much blood meal. It's pretty fast acting. The faster acting a nutrient is, the more likely it is to burn. Get with me when you are ready to go into your next round and I'll talk ya thru mixing a proper soil

Yup, triacontanol it is. The magic "secret" ingredient of SuperThrive. Good to hear you haven't seen any negative effects during bloom. I gave my current round a light alfalfa tea around week 4 (and a light top dress because I don't usually strain my teas). They seemed stoked about it.

My worms seem to love alfalfa, too. If I sprinkle a little on top of my worm bin bedding, the worms are all over it the next day. I bet these castings are going to be fantastic.

Anyone with a worm bed, I highly recommend feeding them alfalfa, and if you can get it Bunny Poo. The wigglers will love it. Makes for GREAT EWC.
Rabbits (domestic ones anyway) eat primarily alfalfa, so on top of a great NPK ratio, you get the added benefit of triacontanol.

The for the soil for this next plant I have peat moss, perlite, a commercial potting mix, bone meal, blood meal, worm castings and plant tone.

Try the Neptunes Harvest Liquid Fish Hydro. or Liquid Seaweed & Fish Hydro. versus the Alaska Fish Emulsion.
It doesn't smell NEARLY as bad! And I use it all throughout the grow with no ill effects of reduction in potency or anything like that bro.
Just my 2cents for ya :joint:

Ugh, just started brewing a tea earlier with liquid fish, liquid seaweed, aquashield, subculture m and B, and it is the worst smell ever... If you ever want to cover the smell of growing your girls there you have a recipe but beware you might puke! Oh yeah, didnt forget the blackstrap;)

I try like hell NOT to use any fish or kelp emulsions or liquids in my room. Of course at that point I was TRYING to stay married! LOL! I learned my lesson when I dropped a bottle of Alaska Fish emulsion. Cap broke, bottle bounced, and sprayed the walls a nice, diarrhea brown. And the stench lingered for weeks. A good case for having Panda film on the walls and floor!! It WILL cover any other odor issues you may have though......

That shit smells awful..the first bottle I bought was leaking from the bottom! Smelled like the type of pussy you're supposed to stay away from!! Haha but on a serious note I took it back to get a different bottle at a different store and they actually had a bottle that was easier on the nose..apparently it has something in it that reduces the odor. It didn't make me want to throw up at all surprisingly.

After months of looking I finally found a hydro shop that's a reasonable distance from my home..I'm guessing I'd be able to find the liquid seaweed in there? If so what brand is good..some liquid nutes are banned in my state smh....LEGALIZE IT.
