Hi,

i repotted my plants to MG moisture control soil 2 weeks ago. After reading more, I want to use the Fox Farm Grow Big, Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom. Looking for advice on how to introduce these products into my grow. Also trying to decide if its time to go 12/12. Thanks for your advice. Pics attached. My plant is about 18in - 19in tall. Also I picked up 4 cfl 42/150 watt daylight 6500k bulbs. I'm currently running 5 - 26/100 cfl daylight 6500k bulbs.

you will probably kill your plant if you give them nutrients in MG just water your plant in that soil.

nutrients are not required to be given if they are already in the soil. i know you think adding them will make them grow but its actually just going to hurt them. just wait till you see a deficiency. maybe a little bloom when you go 12/12 but im really not sure with miracle grow. if you look on the bag you can read it has time release nutrients that last from 2-6 months. they get activated every time you water.

You won't kill your plant.

Let them get settled in for a couple weeks then add your nutes at 1/4 strength. Bump it up slowly over several waterings to 1/2 strength, maybe a bit more. Bet this works for you.

Thanks AimAim. Do you think they are ready for the flip to 12/12? I just brought the 3 fox farm products, should one during the 12/12? I guess I will start reading up on the flushing I have seen in some post about flowering. I will use a different soil on the 2nd grow and take full advantage of the fox farm product. Any thoughts on the fox farm ocean fresh soil?

Nice looking plants, good color.

Well when to flip depends on a lot of things like your height constraints and personal circumstances that might necessitate a completion date. Rule of thumb is they will at least double in size during flower. Another rule of thumb is that the larger the plant is at the end of veg, the more the yield will be for that plant. "The bigger the bush the bigger the bag of buds"

Honestly if it were me I'd do some serious training immediately (LST, supercrop) and get those plants laid over hard, let em run a couple of weeks and then switch.

Good job and good luck !

How many weeks in veg. Give them a week to adjust from the repotting.
I repotted them 1 1/2 weeks ago basically I moved them to bigger pots and just added the mg soil and took them out of their pots set them in the mg pots and filled the rest the pot with mg. they seem to be ok and undisturbed and still growing.

I guess you are asking about a Fox Farm nutrient and I can't comment on that since I don't use them. To me fertilizers are all the same just different ratios and concentrations and micronutrients. Learn to read the label and do the math and you can save some serious $.

I don't adhere to any aspect of flushing so will pass on that as well.

As far as FF Ocean Fresh I am using it for the first time this year. Mixed 50/50 with Miracle Gro (Oh My Gawd) Organic. Other things I add to the mix are perlite, fine dolomite, castings, bone meal, blood meal.

You know, I keep reading about how FF Ocean forest is "hot" and by God everyone knows Miracle Grow with "up to 6 months feeding" is lethally hot. But I mix them together and water with nutes at week 3 and I've never had a problem. Well my opinion on FF Ocean Forest is that is a very good soil.

Don't flush if you're in MG unless you overfed.
Here's the link to my last one in moisture control that I started feeding at day 25.

thanks, I'm in Wa. St. And just got my med card so I have some leeway to grow. My space can accommodate about a 5 ft plants. I tried to lst one and accidentally split one branch from the stalk. So I tried it back up and it seem to have recovered without much damage. I will have to lst younger flexible branches The other LST branch seems ok and the shoots are growing upward. I will have to read up on super cropping. One other question, will see much different in the grow since I switched the lights from 26/100 watts 6500k daylight CFLs to 42/150 watts 6500k CFLs and added a couple 26/100 watt 2700k.

thanks for the encouragement.

Before you go pulling branches around real hard doing an LST look at the branch where it joins the main stem and make sure you are not just pulling straight off the stem. I'm kinda high and I can't explain it well, but pull the branches at an angle off the stem, not directly at the Y. You will avoid most splitting that way. If you have a sizable branch you need to move do it in 2-3 adjustments. Move as far as you are comfortable the first time, couple days later tie down some more etc.

I always have a precut 3" piece of electrical tape on my potting bench for when I get those Oh Shit moments and I break a joint. As long as it is somewhat connected push it together and lash it up with tape. Works 95% of the time.

As far as your lighting the more you have the better. Rule of thumb is 6500K for veg, 2700K for bloom. So load it up with 6500s while vegging, but don't hesitate to toss in some 2700s if you have an open socket. As you switch to bloom drop some 6500s and add 2700s. Keeping your light at max is where the rubber meets the road.

Wow those look nice. Are they busy because you lst them? Well look like you tied them down.
I did man, actually, when I topped, I crossed the 2 stems, rather than chance splitting the stalk.
Up to the very end, I was changing every couple days to keep the canopy as flat as possible.
The two I have vegging now, at 22 days from sprout, I have topped already, and am LST'ing one already, and plan to wrap it around the shape of the pot in opposite directions.

Oh and for the record here are some puny plants rooted in FFOF & Miracle Grow Organic, nuted with MG regular and Orchid nutes. And Cal-Mag. I took the picture today, they were planted Jan 27th. I got them trained and tied down hard now gonna let them run. Word on the street is that Ocean Forest and MG are both too hot to handle. What do you think? Left to right a White Rhino, 3 Cheese, and a White Widow.

This is 95% an indoor grow just took them out for some fresh air and sunshine today.
