1.They took over the bankruptcy process, they fired the CEO (needed to go, beside the point), they maintained ownership of stock after being told by the majority of business men, economists and anyone with a platform to get out and cut our losses at the IPO.1 How did the goverment take over GM. Can you show demonstrate how the goverment has run it?
2 No GM would not exist as it is if the goverment didnt loan them money.
BTW how is GM doing?
The moral hazzard of this should not have to be pointed out. Why not National Steel? they were union. Why not the textile industry? that was millions of jobs. We absolutely CAN NOT continue to bail out poor business models based on campaign and party contribution.
2. Playing with words won't get you out of admitting your thought process. Of course it wouldn't be exactly the same, that's not the question and you know it. You also know you would have to admit that there would still be cars being made in what is now known as the "Old GM" if you were being honest and a thinking person. It might not be the same exact plants, some of the red state plants may have remained open too.
Edit: who knows, maybe we could have the opportunity to buy one of these if not for Obama's "help".
