Criteria to meet to be called a slut?

This reply in this thread reminded me of something I often wonder about.

I know everyone has a different threshold of criteria to be met to call someone a slut. To me Im not sure what that criteria is.

Some people enjoy sex more than others, so to me sheer numbers dont equate to being a slut.
Some people dont know the names of past partners for whatever reasons. So not remembering doesn't make them a slut.
Some people like to drop down and dirty regularly so again that could just be the enjoyment again.


My list could go on but to me the criteria to meet is hard to see.

If my wife were to cheat on me, well I couldn't really call her a slut per say. I would probably have to chalk it up
to her being unhappy or unsatistfied.

Anyone else care to define what being a slut means to them?

what are you really asking? very confused. How to teach your wife how to become a slut ?

If she sleeps with alot of dudes for money shes a whore, if she sleeps with alot of dudes for free she's a slut, thats why society came up with the names, to label easy chics as sluts and undesirable for long term relationship, people talk, and when trying to pick a suitable mate for marraige I would like to know and I do think it is relevant to know if she is a slut or was a slut, I know lots of girls and the ones that aren't sluts are the ones who have high moral standards = lifetime mate material, sluts tend to be a lot less stable and predictable due to there high risk behaviours = not good wife material = lotsa one nightstands = party girl = girls gone wild =Porn star= lotsa fun to be with = herpes + genital warts + HIV + Hep C = not worth it, best off turning up your game and trying to coax a good one into the sack.

See I find the term to be tossed around loosely, (lol) but more often than not
it is by some other chic that is jealous.

So really, what is your opinion as to how a woman has to act to be labeled a slut.

Being overly promiscuous is slutty. If you are fucking more than 2-3 different dudes a month, I would call that slutty.

Reminds me of an old joke - What's the difference between a bitch and a slut? The slut will sleep with everyone at the party. A bitch will sleep with everyone at the party except you ;) IMO, it's about loyalty and honesty; it's not the numbers that matter, but is she honest about it (if you're stupid enough to bring that up) and loyal to you once you both declare a monogamous relationship. To me, a slut is someone who sleeps around behind your back (esp. with your friends)...

So for example, a single hard working female that goes out every saturday and fucks a different guy every 'other' week is a slut already? I'd agree if she wasn't single but that seems a little harsh. I would call that a healthy monthly amount and nothing more or less.

I agree with tyler, numbers aren't the key factor.

See my point exactly. To me it is fairly hard to put a concrete definition to the term.
