Call me crazy, but perhaps moving to a safer neighborhood would be a better solution than buying a bunch of guns and ammo.
It could be a lot cheaper in the long run too. Right now houses are cheap, and bullets are expensive .... as are lawyers.

I've been broken into twice, once when I was home. It was scary both times and a bit unnerving for a couple of days but I still feel comfortable at home and leaving my house with nothing more than the doors locked. I often have doors open during nice days when I'm home. People do dumb shit like break into peoples homes. I'm not gonna be scared of them. Not many people looking to murder people just looking to rob them usually. Life is far more valuable than any possession.

If you move the body, you'd need a solid background in chemical and physical in terms of removal, as well as a good bit in blood spatter flight characteristics - as an aside.. that said, if they're on posted private property, have a weapon and intend to do harm...do what you feel you must. Every situation is different, but I in no way condone moving a body as that would definitely skew your story and forensics wouldn't match. Moving the body would even potentially fuck you hard in court as they'd see a blood trail of them trying to "get away" and you persued for additional shots. Not allowed under Michigan law. Stand your ground only covers no duty to retreat, not that you can persue if they're trying to flee.

Misinterpret.. yes, you did that quite well. It's not a matter of having to pack, it's a choice, and a right given to us should we choose to do so. And no, our right to bare arms has no bearing on the shootings that happen in the streets, again you completely missed it. We could completely outlaw -every- gun that exists on US soil, and we'd still have gun traffickers bringing the shit in, and only the gangs and law enforcement would have it at that time. Would just gangs and law enforcement be better than citizens who are -qualified- to use a gun defensively, and pass a -stringent- federal background check?

hello all,
i live on 320 acres. using your way i would've killed all the cheeky buggers who stray on my land for picking mushrooms. invasive and rude as trespass is, i have never once felt the need to run home and get my dick extension loaded up to kill. where i come it's considered wrong to kill someone on all levels. trespass does not make it into the "justifiable homicide" category.
sorry you had to fight in a war but that does not make your outlook correct or justified. it is just another blow to civil society that we end up with damaged people from these wars with little sense of right or wrong... living amongst us!

Agreed, at no point did I say it would be 'okay' in any fashion. Only time I would present firearm would be if friends, family, myself, or someone close to me while out in public was in grave danger / severe bodily harm / rape category was hit. Hit one of those three and I will act upon it no matter what anyone thinks. It's my decision and given my background, those are the only three things that are A) legal for me to act on in my state and B) justifiable to me in terms of morals / ethics. If it's a knife being presented, and no attack has been made to that point.. I wouldn't present firearm unless said blade happened to be more of a sword, like a 17 inch Tanto.

Ok forst off, those people shooting at people like you so eloquently presented, are criminals. They dont follow the law, nor are they protected by it.
Someone elses wording, ... not this time. It says in the Michigan constitution more clearly than the second amendment. "Every person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of himself and the state".

have to agree that just because you live in a nicer neighborhood doesn't make you safer . i live in a pretty nice quiet area and yet there have been several home invasions over the last few years within a half mile of me. now, growing up in detroit back in the 80's worst thing that i remember happening was pulling in our driveway to find some punk trying to steal my bike.
but in accordance with michigans castle doctrine law myself or heaven forbid my wife have the ability to protect our home and children without the fear of prosecution regardless of what neighborhood i live in

Some neighborhoods have more shootings than others. In Grand Rapids we had 8 shootings over a three week span starting right around Christmas, all the shootings where in two neighborhoods. Most of the shootings and violent crimes last year happened in the same two neighborhoods.

Yep. Highest chances of being shot are in gun free zones. All but one of our countries mass shootings have happened in gun free zones. Broad daylight, nice area, nobody would have thought, kinda places.
