Plan 2-3 plants

black and white poly is pretty good and durable and not too expensive. a 10x10 roll is like 15-20 dollars in the US. mylar is also cheap. if your walls are already flat white that may work to start off with untill you want to switch to something more reflective.

They all are good, but it produces hot spot. White paint and panda plastic produce about 10-15% less then myler, diamond foil etc... :/ hard to choose :/

Hey, so I read allot of threads about t5, but almost all who tried to grow on them, have bad replies, I mean they grow, but the buds are smaller etc..
What do you think of cfl? Why they no good? Im researching cfl at the moment ;)

I skipped some of the reading for you, but here's the best example of a T5 grow I've seen to date.

http://www.420magazine.com/forums/grow-supply-product-reviews/108241-quantum-t5-badboy-16.html

The reason I don't want to run CFL's or florescents is that you have to run pretty much the same wattage as an HID, but with less of a "guaranteed" result.
I really like those Quantum Badboy's, but a 16-bulb is ~900W, and pretty much covers it's own foot print (50x45") ... and it's $370, I can get a Lumatek 600 or 1000, bulb and hood for that. There are reasons why florescents are still used, like heat generated per kWh, and others, but I decided it wasn't for me.

Ahhhhh damn it, why there is no 1 choice, I want 2 plant with A+ buds on them... im thinking about hps with cool tube... I never doubted about anything that much :/

Djwimbo, if I buy 400w hps with cool tube and ballast, I have to buy 2 fans? One for the odour, second for the cool tube? ;/

There are a few factors you would have to think about before deciding what all needs to go in the room/tent. First decide your lighting source.

I don't run HID's, so I won't be the most credible on that subject. You can actively cool via CoolTube, or run an open air hood, each have their own formulas on how to figure adequate air movement/cooling.
My thought process on cooling using HID/CoolTube would be: (Carbon filter) -> (Cool Tube) -> (fan) -> (out of grow space), then depending on whether you want to cycle or constantly run the fan, would determine size/CFMs. You can have an active intake as well, but you can run a whole room on one fan.

If you only want to run 2 plants, 250-400 Watts should be plenty, and that's HID, LED, Induction or T5's. Two plants can take as little as 2sq.ft, or as much as 16sq.ft, it depends on your time frame, strain, training, culture(soil, coco, hydro). If I were to run 2 plants, I'd shoot for a 3ft X 3ft box/tent/closet, 400W would put you just under 45w/ft^2, or in the sweet spot.

I would pay the extra for a digital ballast, whether it's on ebay or from a store. Digitals are usually "switchable" so you can run a MH bulb for veg and an HPS for flower.

Like I said, I'm not the go-to guy for HID stuff, unless you want to talk about car headlights. I'm just trying to help.

for the extra money going digital is much better you may aswell by whats best now because if you buy the cheap stuff first when you do your first grow you will you just upgrade all the stuff i bought a 250 w non air cooled cheap reflector then after that grow was done i got 60 grams from 3 autoflowers then got a 600 with a aircooled so i had to pay out again because i wanted more for my buck go with what suits you and your space but consider that you may want to upgrade at some point so is it better to pay a little more now or have to pay out 150% more in the future ? hope this helps

I think the same guys, the cheap guys always pay 2 times ;D I think im not going to be cheap, anyways its not for one or two grows, its fir life, so I will wait till I gather money, and buy the digital, as I know the main thing on digital ballast is that you can switch the lights between hps/mh and adjust the power supply, correct?

And the other thing, the mh/hps is both are at good results, all the big boys, who has growing for 5 10 20 years, all of them either switch from hps to mh and says omg the buds are like 50% bigger, and then other switch from mh to hps and says the same.... other thing is switching from hps to mh on last two weeks ot flowering.. but in my true appinion and knowledge I gather, I think you have to try it your self. And make it perrect for you :) thats why I will buy the digital ballast, and try to find my own way, cause there is no one right way is it? ;D

Ok, so I did a bit homework, the digital ballast is where you can switch from 400w to 600w, and you can use 400w or 600w bulbs(notice: do not try put 400w bulb on a 600w switch, always adjust the same wattage as the bulb, you might burn your home otherwise), soooo you can maximize the control of your plant, for example on the veging days you can put 400w and in flower 600w, and put some heavy buds.
Or if you decide to grow more plants, you can go from 400 to 600w ;o) I will use only 400w but just incase... I will buy 600, whos knows. ;)
I also choose the best ballast :)

Only the ballast cost, 120pounds, but with the cooltube and the hps light combo in ebay you can get for 184pounds. They also offer fan and filter, but the carbon filter I check, they offer pore quality, the best I know is rhino carbon filter, they last longer. Sorry for my english explanations :D im lacking a little bit.

You should be very happy with that purchase, and the ballast should last you a very long time. No worries on the transliterated English, yours is a lot better than some I've seen.
You can get a digital fixed output ballast too, but having the option to bump it up to 600 later is nice. Even more so when you think about the 600 could flower twice the size of the room you're going to use already... think expanding once you're comfortable and more knowledgeable.
