If you get a cooltube vented straight through, and stay in short pots, lst and/or flower from seed and I think you could go with a 400w, it will take some ventilation work and you will probably still be pushing it, but with a cool tube you will only be down about 6" from the top, with 4-6" tall pots that leaves you just over 2 feet from dirt to bulb, which means you will be able to grow about 1-1.5 ft vertically if you get some good ventilation. Definately keep your ballast outside of the grow space and get as much air moving through those tubes as you can, remember you don't want to melt the top of your container either. It will be tough and you will probably always have a bit of a heat issue but it can be done, I hope your house has A/C because in the depths of summer running a 400w in there when your house is at 80+ itself, will fry those plants pretty fast.

Looking back at the picture, you are going to have light leaks all over that thing though, and it will not be very stealth. Seems like you could find a better spot to grow in if stealth isn't an issue and if it is then you aren't going to achieve it with that giant glowing box in the corner. It is certainly a less than advantageous grow space either way. I say get the 400w and just find something better to grow in.

my wife hates it...im returning it tomorrow.

IU have panda film from my last grow...even if it's lined with that will the light penetrate? otherwise im going to just have to build something.

well im moving to an apt So I wanted something I can store in a closet. I looked for a wooden cabinet but at this time it's to costly. I wanted to grab something a little more cost effective.

none really when the doors are shut. Its a small small light leak just because of those cracks. The only main thing with that cabinet is the heat, its not hard to regulate if you do it properly though.

yeah...I planned on installing an exhaust fan to help regulate temperature.

i agree .. with ventalation(decent) you can put in a 150 or even a 250 hps. then again. in that space i wouldent be 100% sure.... if you had a cooltube and 2 exausts
1 for the space and 1 for the light then im very sure you can pull off a 150-250 hps.

if you dont have money or you like doing things half assed. then go with cfls. the more the better. but you will still need some ventalation
