I just got back from my adventure. Stopped at horizon hydro in lansing. Great store with knowledgeable people. Picked up 6 bags of roots and a bale promix. The roots was only 14$ a bag. I will do all my shopping at horizon hydro from now on.

I go to northern lights hydro in Madison heights. roots soil is 15 bucks a bag and the place is large and well stocked. I get 15-20% off if I spend over $100 (which I always seem to do...)

Good to hear. My Aptus rep said to check that place out.

I was just on HydroHarrys website and they offer price matching, plus they beat that
offer by 5%. So far in my online searchs some Mi places they are trying to rob people.
So Cal is more expensive in every other regard besides grow shops.

Horizen Hydroponics has always taken really good care of me and anyone I have sent there. Plus when they owners are at the same concert as you are, you know you are closer to like minds than the obvious connection implies.

Define "good"

Often times what some call "good" stores doesn't coincide with my barometer.

i go to a couple different stores and I get different things (not products) from them both...

^^^^^^^^great price
i thought so too. they told me that they buy roots soil by the shipping container (like, full on train sized) which allows them to order directly from roots and not have to go through the distributor (sunlight supply). this means that their soil has not been stored at sunlight supply's outdoor storage facility so the likely hood of finding bugs in the soil is much lower.

its on the corner of Campbell and 12 mile. for anyone interested, they quoted me $12 per bag if I get I buy a palet (60 bags). that's for roots original by the way.
Stopped up there earlier today. It's a pretty nice set-up in there. Honestly the prices were a little higher than the place I go to (SGS Livonia) for what I was looking to buy, but they had some different products in there that looked pretty cool so I'm sure I'll be back at some point.

Thanks for the info

earlier i suggested going to Gro-Blue in Ann Arbor/Ypsi, and I will have to rescind my suggestion based on the fact that they are kind of rude - go to the GrowShow or Stealth Hydro in Ypsi

prolly not a pharmer-

an employee that can answer your questions and make you feel like you 'learned ' somthing from the shopping experience is good in my book....:eyesmoke: prolly a pharmer-

the guy 'Steve' (blonde) @ horizon hydro by Lansing is a Buddha --:joint:

Yep that dude was on it. My girls are so damn happy since they got out of the fox farm. Which makes poppa happy again.

Home Depot is stocking Pro Mix for the season.
$14 a mini bale (2 cubic ft. compressed)

So I was paying $27.00 for a 3.8 cu. ft. bale (best price I found).
These smaller ones come out at 4.0 cu. ft. for 2 mini bales at $28 (2 x $14) and Home Depot is easy.
