2 Quick Questions, Newb Here

Hey Guys, Just have 2 questions for you pros out there, hope you guys could answer them for me. 1. I'm outdoor growing, what do you think is an efficient size to dig holes, is 5 gallons good enough? 2. What's a cheap and efficient light to use to grow my plants for the first month with humidomes, and how many lights would I need for 50 plants. Thanks for the answers in advance, and stay green :leaf:.

You're gonna need to provide a lot more info for a semi accurate answer, we don't know if you mean just to veg or what, what kind of lights you intend to use, or anything.
I could say 15 bulbs/ lights, meaning CFL's just to veg for 30 days, and get criticized by the next guy thinking I meant to grow with an HPS throughout flower.

The bigger the holes, the more bowls....grown outdoors a few times, holes 3 foot deep by 3 foot wide , plants always wound up at least 6 feet tall (up to 9-10) and yielded a pound minimum per (all plants were hybrids, no pure indicas) Dig them as large as you have the energy to IMO

I need to know how many gallons or quarts a 3 x 3 hole or 2 x 2 hole would be anyone know?

1 gallon liquid is apparently .1336 of a cubic foot, so...I'm too baked to run the numbers but that's what google says...that's 7.something gallons per square foot I think

The equation for determing the cu. inches of a round container is pie x the diamater/2 x itself x height. A 5 gal. bucket is 3.14x36x14=1582.56. 1 cu. ft. is 1728, so actually a 5 gal. bucket is not quite 1 cu. ft.

so how much would a 3 x 3 in gallons be approximately? dosent seem right when I used the google calculator.

Oh damn, I think that's ridiculous, wayyy too much money to be spending on 50 plants, I might just do 5-10 gallons per plant

Converting cu. in or cu. ft. to gal. is kind of difficult when it comes to mediums like soil because they don't fill a space the same way a liquid would. I know from experience of growing with soil that 1 cu. ft fills about 8 gal. roughly.

doesn't have to be exact, thanks for the estimate tho :D, think ima use 10 gallons
