Starting second grow ORGANIC

So my new seeds arrived yesterday. Have some Kush and some Juicey Fruit.

Being that this is my second grow i was tempted to not grow organic becuase it will probably be harder......but, sink or swim i guess.


I have some Organic Nutes that the Hydro hobby guy gave me. They are of the Botanicare line. Also he gave me some Humic Acid. Both of which are organic.

Questions:

First: Can i use the Humic Acid along side of the Botanicare nutes throughout the grow?

Second: I have bought some organic soil, without nute additives. Containing the usual peat, pearl, and stuff. I have also bought some worm castings to add to it. Is there anything else that i should be adding to this soil to start?

Well i did some looking around. Looks like i want some bat guano. That will be hard to find in my city. Also some either some bone meal or fish meal. I am wondering about the bone meal. Normally it takes a while for this to break down, so i wonder how useful it will be. Also, finding organic bone meal will be hard.
The humic acid can be used along side of the nutes. I discovered that it is a precursor to crude oil. Helps in micro activity, so the plants soil will be more active and alive.

fish bone meal is great(unless you're indoors!).it's got high phosphorous, for great roots and vascular system. I practice biodynamics,which requires time, a place to do composting,and a fair amount of labor...but the end result is worth it...you'll begin to judge other peoples weed(especially non-organic). I'm getting to the point where even my best dealer can't consistently deliver to my standards! I'm a weed snob! and I ONLY want my stuff...I'll settle for regular 100% organic if that's all that's around! anything less, at $80-100 a Q? that's a rip off!

yeah, i was thinking that would happen. I snob easily. Though i was down in america last week for Saskwatch, and had some fucking awesome weed. Best i'd had in a while. The two best were both organic....so they said, how do you know really....

But i used botanicare bure Blend Pro, cleated minirals and potasium phoshate are contained there in. Not strictly organic. My next grow will be more natural.
Gardening Organically has helped me grow better weed bigtime. If you are just growing pot you are a worker (nothing wrong with that) not a gardener. Im a gardener for my heart, mind and the Earth Mother. If I'm working I usually pull about 25$ an hour (non-union).
Just remember the Micro heard, Micorrhizal fungi, soil bactiria, of your soil are part of the grow. Give them a good life they will give you good weed.

Actually i am a bit of a green thumb. I have about 32 house plants. But i just fert them and water them and re pot them. I havn't looked into it much. Same with my garden. Just fert and seed. With my weed, i am really digging deep. pardon the pun

what is a good store wal mart kind of organic fertz to use, and do I need a special organic fert for flowering? is their a fert that will work for both. I saw a nice organic fert alaska fish fert and bad guano, but are these good for flowering? and what if i use organic fertz with soil?

For my next grow I will use MG organic mix with some MG organic fertz or some other organic fertz i saw in a recycled milk jug..

First. Wal-mart is the devil.
Second. Using fish meal is supplementing your plants with the toxins from the ocean. I wouldn't use fish fert.

I avoid Wall Mart at all costs. Lucky to live in an area their is a Green Thumb nusery around, as well as many other alternatives.
Avoiding the polution laid down by 200 years of man's "industry" would be a very hard thing to do. Unless you are dealing with certified organic cotton seed meal or certified organic bone meal. Have not seen a consumer friendly outlet for said amendments.
The free thing (free fert) has got me buggy though. OK the gallery is comming for sure.

Have you seen "Toxic Garbage Island?" Its on VBS.com. VERY interesting. The ocean is getting really bad. Whales now, when they wash up on shore are considered Toxic waste because of the mercury's deposits in them. I want to find some sort of organic meal. Someone said that Kelp meal would be better because it won't have had as long to get exposed.

i used the Rainbox Mix, grainy stuff composed of Castings, Guano, Kelp Etc. i used this from 3 weeks in and my babies loved it, hard to nute burn with it, i just made a kind of guano tea with the stuff, very simple. I can't believe some people use those mixes of like 10-50-30 or whatever, i've been using low npk's, i guess im just scared to burn em. oh and flushing alot with h2o2.. forget about salt buildup

hmmm i heard it was impossible to burn with organic..... Not that i would want to try. I just got some bat guano today. I think my soil is a little to heavy, need to lighten it up a bit.

I bought some organic Soil from Walmart it was called EXPERT organic something oruther. Seems to be working well though. I also mixed it with 30% perlite

So i left my seeds to germ while in AMERICA for five days. When i got home, they had a little growth spert. So i had get them in the ground FAST. Each one was about five inches long. I planted them coiling their stems while i packed them in. I then left for another five days and come home and they have have been doing quite well.

Next soil mix add some perlite. 30% works for me too.
I like the bottom of my pots to be 1/2 inch pure perlite layer (with rocks!!)
Usually I buy Witney farms Premium potting soil. 100% organic (no certification for potting soil so they can say just about anything, This one has no chems. though) and add 30% perlite.
This time a "store brand", Farmer's potting soil and adding a variety of ferts: Boxed organic dry fertilizer with soil microbes added, kelp meal, dolomite lime, and guano. Plan on spraying-in a molasses-seaweed extract (1tbsp. per gal each) dilution to moisten and get the inoculation going. And add 30% perlite.

Oh yea to answer your question the best i can:
I use Botanicare myself, not "certified organic" but I'd be the last guy to give a attiute about that.
Don't know about their hydro line but their soil line already has Humic Acid. Save your humic Acid for when you run out of botanicare hydro stuff and you make your own teas or add to other liquid ferts. (that's me, some may differ) Wouldn't use humic 3 week's before harvest, I have a semi-scientific explanation for this but it sounds silly. research continues.
Should be able to use the hydro stuff with soil, i'd go light at first and not till the first two, true, (five bladed) leaves appear. till then a tea of worm castings (that should be added to your potting mix as well, 10%-20%) should be cool.
Dolomite lime to keep soil "sweet" and buffered, Marijuana loves a lite alkaline. Some have said 2 tablespoons per gal. of soil, i use about half that, and add to my teas throughout the grow, just a pinch
I love my bottle of seaweed extract (Man has touched,trampled every wear, keep up the good info SS) miracle in a bottle if there ever was one. I dose all my nutes light according to the package, half strength mostly, unless I know my micro-herd (bio-wealth of the soil, soil microbes) is pumping and my plants and their roots can take it. When adding soil microbes if i have the money I go full strength.
Goggle: compost tea, minimum Required lumens for marijuana flowering, Burn1.
