Hello and welcome to observe my wee grow.~

Setup:
- 400w HPS
- Growing medium: a mixture of 3 types of soil and some well washed gravel (for dat fluffy goodness) pH of soil is around 6-6.2.
- Pots (or containers in my case): 3x 80 liters or 21-22 gallons each
- Got a constant flow of fresh air from outside into the grow space
- A tower blower with a wide turning angle blows cool air towards all of the plants

Humidity is at a sharp 40% mostly, temperature goes at around 82F day time and drops by 20-30% for the lights off period.

Strains (all from seeds): 4x White Widow, 4x Crystal, 4x Ice & 3x feminized Great white shark

Currently I'm vegging with 18/6 light cycle and feeding pH ~6.5 adjusted water and a low dosage of biobizz grow with every 2nd watering.
I also add some chicken shit and seaweed extract to the soil.
Atm. the oldest babies or quickest to sprout are 10 days old, and you can see some of the smaller ones which are roughly half that age.

Comments, questions and tips are very much welcome. ~

Excuse me for the poor quality pictures. The plants are actually very green and healthy looking. Will get better pics for next update.

Here's just a quick 1 pic update on how things are progressing, will do a more detailed update in a few days.

Day 15

Looking good definitely subscribing to this one man, excited to see how everything turns out. What nutrients are you going to be using.

I'll be using mostly biobizz nutes: grow, bloom and topmax. I've also plant some slow-releasing nutrient sticks such as ones made of chicken shit and seaweed extract into the soil.

Day 20 now and I started LST today. I've never done this kind of training before so it should be interesting. Tips are welcome~

In the last pic is a Chrystal plant that has been all strange from the beginning, does this look like heat stress? Pretty much all of its leaves have looked kinda crappy and bent on the edges.
All plants get the same amount of nutes btw. (biobizz grow: about 1/3rd of the recommended amount) also, I flushed her but it made no difference.

Day 24/LST day 4

I've done some extensive fan leaf trimming so that the lower parts of the plants would be enjoying more light while receiving the hormonal benefits of auxins from the LST.

wwcrhystal.jpg01.jpg02.jpggws.jpg

LST seems to be going fine for most of the plants, only the Ice babies (the leftmost container in 2nd picture) aren't agreeing with it as much as the WWs and Chrystals are, perhaps they weren't as ready for this type of training as the others were.

2 of the Great white sharks aren't taking part in the training atm, you can see one of them in the 4th picture.
The feminized GWS didn't sprout as quickly or strongly as the regular seed strains, so they're quite a bit smaller than the rest.

Are the roots seperated at all in the first two grow boxes? The third one is clearly separated, but the other two are unclear. Its tough to get a good view of the box, but it looks like there are like 4/5 plants per box. Have you done this setup before? I would be concerned with stunted growth down the road because of the roots competing with each other.

That's right, only the 3rd box has roots seperated. I'm new to this setup, but I'm quite confident the shared 21 gallons(technically 4.2 gallons for each plant :eyesmoke:) is going to suffice for roots, although you're right that it's probable some competition may occur for the root space, as it is out there in the wild, but I hardly expect much stunted growth. Either way, I was hoping to experiment with this, and I don't mind that much if some of the plants have stronger root growth. I'm also expecting around 2 males per grow box, so even more root space can be expected.

There are 5 plants per box, you can best see the layout in this image:

I understand your line of thinking, but plants outdoors are also not limited in their vertical root growth. Either way, I am excited to see the results.

Hey all. I think the first male has been found, it's a shame since this is the biggest Ice plant atm... what do you guys think?

Day 29/Week 4

Yesterday I fed the plants and released them from the low stress training. I'm quite happy with the results but decided to stop to avoid any further stressing for now.

Pics 4-5 are 2 of the 3 feminized great white sharks, they haven't had any training.
Pic 6-7 are ice strains, they developed some quite long and steady branches during the week of LST.
Pic 8 is a ww, it's starting to show sex, as are many of the plants! thumbs up for some bitches

Day 34/Flowering day 1

Hey all!

Things are looking good, the plants are bushing out and they got really smelly lately. I flipped the switch to 12/12 during last nights dark period, I believe now was a good time to do it as many plants are starting to show sex.
I've been unable to locate any confirmed males so far, hopefully my seed company sells feminized seeds as regulars :weed: i wonder if some actually do that ;)
Most of the plants are quite level in height, except on the leftmost container 2 of the ice plants and a bunch of their branches, many of which are taller than the main stem btw, are quite a bit taller than rest of the plants.

Looking good bud, I can only imagine how much bigger these things are gonna get during flower :bigjoint:
Thanks mate, I'm hoping for some serious flowering growth here :eyesmoke: though the grow room is a bit small for this amount of plants, I was expecting to find quite a bit of males, but none so far... at least there's plenty of space to go vertically. :weed:

Today I gave the first flowering nutes! the Ice plants are my lab rats here, gave 'em grow 1ml/l, bloom 1ml/l and biobizz top max 1ml/l

Was originally gonna give the top max after a couple of weeks into flowering, but from what I've gathered the biobizz topmax is alright to give right from the start of flowering, in fact biobizz recommends that.

Everything is looking good from what my newbie eye can see. Keep a close watch for those males you want those dicks out of there ASAP. I'll definitely subscribe and check the grow out. You are couple weeks ahead of me so it's nice to see where my plants should be, or what they should look like. How often are you watering these guys, and how much of a factor does your slightly acidic water play for the overall soil pH?

Yeah I'm obsessively seeking those males every day(sounds wrong i know)
For now watering around once a week works really well for 2 of the grow boxes, but the one box with the root space seperated takes a good few days longer to dry.
So the soil mix I use brings the soil pH to 6.2-6.3, and I feed the water/nutes at pH 6-6.5, that should balance it to a very decent pH.
I would guess the runoff is between 6.2 and 6.5, tbh I haven't actually even bothered to check that, it comes out clear and the plants are loving it, and that's just fine with me.

Good news. Upon my toked up inspection today I found some more females ^^ the count now is: 2 ice, 2 gws, 2 ww, and at least 2 chrystals. :weed:

I can also see preflowers in gws, chrystals and ww's! and there's still no males to be found... I'd be quite happy to grow this amount of girls, but I have a feeling there's gonna be plenty more
