HID Light Spectrum with LED upgrade

Just Flipped my girls a couple days ago and switched to my 600HPS setting on the digital ballast. Nice red spectrum and was running 24" above tops with a 645 par reading (Apogee Quantum light meter)

72 hours later turned up the ballast to 1000 watt setting. Seemed washed out a bit compared to the 600 setting but quite a bit improvement with a 845 par value. although it did raise the High Temp to 82 from 79.

Finally the latest update 24 after the prior photo. Lowered the ballast back to 600 but fired up a additional 300 watts of LED light cannons in the actinic 420 range. Really looks great and seems to improve a more balanced spectrum. Lowered the high temp back to 79 and increased par to 978. I'm hoping this will provide some good results.

actually god is over there on another thread of his own, or was that christ, either way same thing. so anyway HID is god, led is god's little helper.

Read my quote bro. 1K gave off less Par then a 600 HPS and 300w LEDs? Not to mention the electricity this dude will save.
Clearly, HID was once God... But I belive that time has past..

Agree, great supplement but nothing like old fashion power.

Old Fashion, Is Over-rated.

Look at commercials, if they're not usin the sun, they're using LED
I'm close to 50, so I guess I qualify as old fashion! Although I love technology hence why I'm mixing HID with Led's. I'll keep a close eye on the actinic spectrum and the effects and make my conclusion when all is said and done.

I usually supplement blue with a kessil blue but only in veg, those ones you're running look fairly powerful . never really added blue in flower, I use only predominately red panels to supplement the HID. I know the HID would more than likely do just as good a job without the led but I run them anyway.

Damn Dbkick, looks sick! I have used the Kessils in different applications but the ecoxotic cannons has crazy depth penetration and figured might as well try em and see how it goes. If I can get my lady's half as nice as your I would be happy!

Well the numbers don't lie. I'm a huge fan of HID (I have a 1,000w premium system) but I also have T-5's, T-8's, and red and blue LED's. Lighting is not a one-size-fit's-all solution; they are tools that you use to meet your individual needs. I've seen for myself the power of LED's in veg but I've also seen how they disappointed me in flowering, so while I don't throw them out because they can't do everything perfectly, they do have their place. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

One point that is extremely interesting is that you can flower much longer under LEDS. I seen some flowered 18 weeks under LEDS that looked sick! That's too long for me to wait though lol.

I had forgot about that. Another benefit is that the nodes are half the distance of most light systems.

Honestly I would welcome a little stretch so I can fill my screen a bit more. As I stand now looks like I will be shy by 25% or so. These girls are freaking bushes, not what I'm used too. I have 3 Violator Kush and a williams wonder survivor from the 80s.

Just wanted to do a quick update! Its been 2 weeks since I flipped my girls and they have been doing well. Had to deal with some high humidity levels during lights out but think I have it under control now. Also think I might have a small Nitrogen def that I need to address. Would it be a fair assumption to consider this day 1 of flower?
