When do you start your garden seeds?

Not everyone wants to spend $10 on seeds every year.
never claimed they did. I was just making a statement on what i do. but to be totally honest 10 bucks isn't that much money (i pay 10 bucks for 1 marijuana seed) and the hassle of bartering seeds seems not worth the savings. Again my opinion. I also generally have plenty of seeds left afterwards for next year, most seed packs will last the average gardener a few years if they wish, unless planting a large plot. my polot is only 8x8 and i plant around 10-12 different vegtables/fruits.

FYI, Burpee sells a lot of Monsanto genetics. While I also still use a few Burpee seeds, I make sure that none of it comes from this company or its subsidiaries. It is unconscionable how they have treated our farmers and how many times their companies have been caught lying to the American public.
While I know that one person cannot bring down this giant, I choose to voice my opinion loudly with my pocketbook. I would urge others to do so as well and support the small seed companies - esp those who have signed the safe seed pledge.
That statement is completely full of win :)

On the thread topic, I just transplanted my first dozen starter tray herbs and tomatoes into 6" pots, and started my second. I usually start planting my seeds April 1st and get them out in May (usually late May).

This year I'm doing my first indoor weed grow, so as those seedlings are still small, all of my outdoor herbs and veggies are inside my grow tent until it's time to take them out.

i started my tomatoe ceeds about 4 days ago and they are already popping through the soil. they will go out around the end of may.

i start my beans mid may right in the ground.

the cukes get started inside if i have time.

i don't have much time for much else because the main crop keeps me busy.

i see alot of people spelling seeds this way? care to explain why, as your vocabulary dosent seem to be bad so im asuming this is not a mispell on accident.

and I know all about the main crop keeping us busy man :) between work and my grow I have no time. I am thinking of this year doing the same thing, just planting a few varieties that we eat the most (pretty much the same as you tomatoes, cukes and beans) to keep it easy but. anyways best of luck with your garden this summer, its so rewarding to pick them fresh veggies and add them right to your salad for that nights dinner.
