Selling to Dispensaries?

So a my friend and I are looking to move out to Colorado Springs this fall. I am starting my research on how the business of things work. One of the biggest questions I have thus far is, Can you sell your product to dispensaries? I saw what looks like a new law stating dispensaries must now grow 70% of there own product. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated it thanks!

No you cannot sell to dispensaries, unless you are an OPC which requires licensing with the state and many many thousands of dollars.
The MMCs must Produce 70% of their own product with the other 30% coming from an OPC.
The boom is long gone here, ozs sell below $200 almost always, $150 is common. There will be openings for retail shops and growers, but the 30% + tax rate is going to keep sales down i am sure.

The regs are in flux again if I understand the news reports from the last week... Something about the state may not require "vertical integration" of the business, but instead allow them to purchase rather than grow. I did not see the limits of where they could purchase from, but it is likely to be only some licensed facility because of the desire to track from seed to smoke. This desire to regulate the fuck out of everything, where does it come from, a desire to control things even when they are none of their fucking business??? It is already illegal to poison people, that should be enough regulation. I support Trousers' proposal to regulate MMJ like tomatoes.

It is illegal to poison people unless you are a giant corporation (monsanto), then you can do it regardless of what any court says.
OP asked about selling to MMC's.
You are correct that they may not use Vertical Integration and anyone may be able to get into the market with a little waiting and a lot of $$$. The Amendment was written that there would be basically growers (wholesalers) and retailers. This looks closer to what they are going to adopt, therefore if you have a legit company growing cannabis you can market the cannabis to all retailers who sell cannabis. Seems to make too much sense, they will screw it up somehow i am sure.

Yeah, there are a lot of folks trying to cash in with limited success. Like the guy I sold a light to on CL who mentioned that he is new to the area and with his partners are doing a 99 plant grow in a rental. He didn't say how he was unloading the bulk, but I suggested he be low profile and he said that wasn't necessary because it is legal now. I couldn't argue, but damn. He said as long as they stay at 99 it wouldn't draw the attention of the feds. I do not share his optimism or fearless-ness.:peace:

I look at these guys 2 ways, first off they are the guys who make us all look like jerks who are just trying to profit from the "legal" ability to grow (99 ain't legal). I put them in the same category as the guys who run the vent from the hot water heater into the grow for the free C02, really bad publicity for us.
But on the other hand i think of these guys as keeping the cops out of my hair, cause i would have to grow 99 really really little plants under 2kw. LoL, talk about sea of green. I would never attempt anything like that, and certainly not tell anyone about it let alone the guy i met off of cl. This is a lesson on how to get busted, in a legal state.

Bottom line... Do some research before uploading your life, if you do not... You'll be seeing the rockies in your rearview mirror and zero dollars in your pocket

Thanks for all the advice, well I see that moving there in an attempt to grow would be very difficult. I just want to move out to the springs because I know many people who have been there and love it. I just wanted a way to move out that way and combine my love of this culture into one. Are there any other related fields that booming in Colorado? (Marijuana related of course)

Depends on the $$$ you are willing to spend, i know of one market that is going to xplode, but will require roughly a 20k investment to start, very small in this industry. Well several markets will be created, with my math that will be the cheapest one by a long shot.
