price is what matters most my friend. 8 inch ducting can be downsized to 6" at any lowes or home depot.
price aint too big of a deal 8 inch ducting don't cost much more then 6 inch anyway plus the 8 inch has better air flow keeping temps lower. I know how too grow I'm not a beginner just when it comes to the air cooled hoods I'm not 100% which will be best for a 600 if I had a 1,000 I'd probally go with the raptor but I think that will be over kill for a 600 watt light.

If your going to spend that much, get a blockbuster. Waaaaay better hood. 8" is a waste unless your chaining more than 5 hood together.

^ yes very similar to the blockbuster. Although I have to say that the new blockbusters are pretty fuckkng money. It was the first hood out of allot of hoods I have that is built correctly. Nice gaskets that fuckkng work, nice hinges, safety cable so you don't smash your plants when you change bulbs. Etc. I bought 1 of them, tested it with a lux meter and then also read the greeners AC hood test on them. I went out and bought 11 more

Fucking love them

Choose wisely my friend the bulb and reflector are the most important purchase for indoor growers. Yet soo many ..cough...shit heads... Go search ebay for some piece of shit ballast, hood, bulb combo. You get what you pay for. Spend the extra 20-50 and get the beat dude.

that blockbuster does sound nice but at greners they say:
Radiant- The Radiant reflector (and Daystar below) is the only reflector with the internal layout designed by lighting engineers (computer modeling, laboratory testing, etc). This is the best of the best reflector made to put the maximum amount of available light on to the surface of your 4'x4' grow area.
Blockbuster- This is the top of the line reflector from Sunlight Supply / Sun Systems. This is the reflector they say is as good or better than the Radiant.

which makes me want the radiant cause its a lot cheaper and they don't say the blockbuster is any better just that its as good.

[FONT=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]this chart just barely puts the blockbuster on top of the radiant 6 inch but some reason the 8inch looses a lot of light must be through the bigger duct. guess I'll go with the 6 inch just cause their more efficient but does anyone have experience with the radiant reflector it seems to be the best for the money as the chart shows the blockbuster is barely throwing more light. Yeah they are real close. The thing about the blockbuster is the nicer, higher quality features. If your not running co2 then the seals probably don't matter as much.

They both have very even patterns there s a better thread on ICmAg with color graphs showing the longer patterns. Pretty interesting really. Some of the hoods had god awful light patterns. And I mean terrible!
