Hi guys, i have some girls that have a problem, they are Moby dick strain and they all show the very same problem. I don't know what they are trying to tell me so i could really need your help.
The lower leaves, i mean the oldest ones are changing to brown color, they dry out and die starting from the tips. And it gets worst day by day.
Here are some pictures. Please tell me what you think!
Thanks in advance.

Please excuse the low quality pics...it's all i can do for now.
Please help me. Any advice is much appreciated.:-(:-(

Its either overfeeding or overwatering or both. I bet its both. Don't do anything until some real experts chime in. GOD asked some great questions.

Is it only the leaves above the cotyledons? I trim them off personally. Looks like normal die off to me, the rest of the plant looks good, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it unless it spreads. Good luck

Ok, so, lights i have one CFL 125 W,
normal bought flower soil,
sink water....no nutes yet,
and i didn't check the PH yet (the instrument it's on its way)
I would be most glad to be just normal die off, but the problem moves to the next node( set of leaves) and so to the top of the plant.
What can i do to stop it? :(

"normal bought flower soil" doesn't help us hun... we need to know what kind/brand.. some have nutes in them that can burn baby cannabis plants....

that looks like a P-K issue- but that would be odd at that young age...especially since Moby Dick is a real hearty plant... we're growing it now and have done 3 grows of it.. she is a heavy eater-- so if your soil has no N-P-K value, and you haven't fed it- then starting your week 1 of nutes wouldn't hurt.
But make sure they are the RIGHT nutes at the right dose!

List what you got that you plan to use so someone can help ya!

Looks like over watering? how many times do u water per week? or whats your watering schedule?
The soil likes kinda like mud.... i would've recommended at least mixing in some perlite into the soil...

I'm planing to feed them with HY-PRO Terra. Should i start feeding them? Like in the chart?

It's not over watering because i start to water them more after i saw the problem. Now i do it every 2-3 days, depends how the soil looks and feels like.
I can't give you many detailes about the soil, they label said "flower soil" and it's cheap stuff, so i don't think it has any nutes in it.

Is their a lot of water runoff after you water? i still wanna say over watered and/or your roots not getting enough oxygen. You might think its not over watering but ever time you water the plant do u make sure the soil is dry? and not just the top soil i mean all of the soil? i'm thinking you don't have enough drainage in your soil

You don't have a brand name....anything?????

But no-- not quite time to start your feeding chart.... yet-- they need at least 1 more set of leaves.... then go for it!

Not trying to be a pain in the ass here but "normal die off"? Is this possible at this early stage?

It looks like shitty potting soil to me. Potting soil is for houseplants that you don't want to grow too fast or water too often. I'm afraid that is going to be a slow growing plant.

The two things that come to my mind are this:

1. You're probably using soil that is not meant for cannabis.
2. Tap water PH can have a wide range. For instance mine here is 8.0-7.8 8.0 is not what your plant wants. You want your PH in the 6.2-6.5 range. Going outside of that range can cause a lockout and various deficiencies.

To solve this, get some Fox Farm soil, get a PH stick, and balance your PH. Don't give any nutes during the first month. When you start to give nutrients, use less than half the recomended dose and work your way up.

I second the suggestion to get fox farm soil its high quality soil for a good price in my opinion. I've been using it for all my grows never really had a problem with it.

Could be pH issues if you aren't checking that, get a simple color test from a pet store, that way until your tester gets there you can at least be sure the tap water is near what you should be using. (You can also test the run off water... it should be 1.0 pH below the water you poured in, that's a decent way to test how the soil is... but obviously best to have the soil tester.

The other leaves look great, so don't stress too much. Just get everything worked out as quickly as you can and keep paying her lots of attention. If the new growth starts to look bad... then your issue has gotten worrisome. Be sure your soil is light enough, some vermiculite, peat moss and perlite mix-ins help to make sure the soil isn't too packed and the roots are getting sufficient oxygen. Be sure the soil can drain well and dries at a decent pace, that also ensures the roots can get water and air properly. I would say at her age, nutes are not the problem.

thank a lot guys,
I will get myself a PH tester to test the water and soil.
I think it's the soil as you suggested, and the water. Until the PH tester arrives i will water them with water left over night in a bowl. Will that help in achieving the right PH?
How can i change the soil now? when they have roots allover in there? won't they get shocked?
The soil drains pretty well.. but i can see it got a little dense, i mean there is space between the pot and the soil, it got smaller than the pot and as it was at first. dunno how to explaine better.

So it's too early now, but in 4 days when they get another node of leaves it's time to "go for it".

Seriously? Gonna make a difference you think?

You can lightly water the plant and let that sit for about an hour. That will allow the soil to form more of a solid mass around the roots. Carefully pull the plant out and wipe away some of the soil from the lower roots. You need to get as much of that junk soil out of the way as possible, but be careful and remove what is comfortable and go from there.

Be sure to have your pot ready with the Fox Farms (I use that as well - with anything I grow, it's super awesome). You can add the perlite, vermiculite and peat moss to the Fox Farms mixture if you want to... it can help control over watering (perlite in particular is quite absorbent and can hold extra water), though it's not required. Have about 8-10 inches of soil sitting in the pot, place the plant on top of that and fill in with soil around the sides. Water it with JUST proper pH water and let it be for a day or 2. (Still check on her obviously, never go a day without seeing how she is.) You will eventually need to start adding nutes into the soil during watering, but just watch for signs of deficiency and go from there, every plant is different.

Be sure you are only patting the soil down lightly, if not at all... it doesn't need much packing... that will decrease it's ability to dry out and get oxygen. Good luck!
