i meant growing in a mobile unit sounds very risky, personally. Maybe ideal for your scenario though, saw your location after I had posted.

Hans flower panel will veg just fine even at full flower(65w) mode................trust me their is no need for the mother panel;-)

Forgive me, I'm still trying to learn about how different spectrum of light interact with plants, but isn't additional blue light beneficial for vegetative growth?

I have no doubt that the normal panel does fine. However they are both the same price. So if you plan on keeping a mother wouldn't having a dedicated panel make sense?

I'm up in the air if I should buy some lenses (80 degree) for my CREE and REBEL ES LED's.

Only choice is 80 or 60 degree and if I do decide it would be 80 degree...don't want too much of a spotlight effect if I do go forward with purchase so 80 degree would be my choice.

What degree would the LED's be without a lens ?

Is it worth it to buy lenses for myLED's?

Pro ... con ?

Thanks

While blue light is "beneficial" to an extent in vegetative growth, its not gonna magically make your plants grow dramatically better. vegging plants is not hard compared to flower.

also 56 watts is WAY excessive unless your mother is a metre tall and providing tens of cuttings on a regular basis. And at the same price as an extra flowering panel, which will produce a tangible benefit to your yield, and can be used for veg anyway, its pointless.

You will lose some efficiency and the benefits are questionable. without specific models we can't know what beam angle the LEDs have already, but as a rule I would say no extra lenses, personally.

The LED's are CREE CW ,WW and Royal Blue / Blue XP-G - XP-E - XT-E and Philips Rebel ES Deep Red.

I just checked out the degree of CREE XP LED's without Lens after your post and they are 125 degrees..that's a lot of wasted light outside the grow area ....Well I think so.

My area is going to be 32" depth give or take a few inches.

So I'm thinking whatever light efficiency that is lost due to having lenses is less than LED's without a lens.

See this example.

Then again I don't know what I'm talking about..LOL

Scotch, Thanks for the info, I'll get it done, and it's pretty loose in Alaska, I also qualify for a MMJ card if I would seek one, but I don't give a shit about their politics..LOL

just compare the leds panel to panel and the different spectrum blends, as I understand it the original "gro panel" has three phases (spectrum blends) with a seedling/cloning setting-spectrum blend , can I call it that? what I mean is how many of each diode color is lit at a given setting, that panel is as close to what I would like to build, I would like a panel with each diode wired individually, not unlike a led sign (only different diodes) but controlled with a PC program. This would be a awesome way to bring a plant into a realistic lighting change, at least most of the budoligists are short stopping at 18/6 instead of 24/0 to 12/12 it might make a difference, it must impact em somehow...........anyway my .02

Yes three settings.... the four cree xt-e 460(blue) and two lumiled rebel 660nm are always on! what changes between phases is the amount of cree xp-e 630nm that are added http://www.bonsaihero.com/ledgrow.html scroll down to see all the phases.

definitely the 135w! but you can still only do one girl under it............personally save up for something better and don't waste your $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on those ufos.

Good to hear.........your temps are fine!! yes ideal conditions will give you better yields and 95+ will start to stress your girls BUT they will still give you something:P
