I grew out the jilly bean from his cuts also and loved em...as do my patients. I prefer seeds to clones and have a few in different stages:

If I am the only one with this cut, defines it as clone only. There might be seed forms out there but you and I both know the cuts will not be the same.

Yeah def not for amateurs. Real growers collect strains and have the facilities to keep them.
Not really. Only if your a shitty grower. If you cant take care of mothers and produce clones you are lying to yourself when you call urself a grower. A lot of fakers and wannabes especially on this site.

What defies a true mother? A plant you can consistently take a cut from? Or a plant that you can take an abundance of cuts from? Had a debate with my buddy last night about it and we really couldn't both come to a conclusion so I'd love to hear your guys thoughts.

I consider a Mother to be a female plant kept in veg for an extended period of time for the purpose of periodically taking cuttings. I am a very small-scale grower and generally only need a few cuts at a time so bonsai style works for me and I prune once every three to six weeks whether I use the cuttings or not.
