whats up bros ive been creepin on the forums for a while decided i would post and ask for some advice. so im growing in a secret jardin cr60 with t5 ho bulbs i am using general organics nutrients. my babies are about 3 - 4 weeks old and i just started 12/12 im planning on trying to run an sog because im on a tight schedule im hopeing to be done by the end of june but i can move them to a new location if i have to if i need more time. as for my experiance i am a complete noob this is my very first grow so any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated.

my questions are

1. are my plants a good size for their age
2. can someone please tell me what is wrong with my plant in picture 4 in the orange pot is it nut burn or what? i have no idea the leaves have a few brown spots and are slightly curled up and in. ( sorry if the pictures are crappy i only had my camera on my phone)
3. will i have enough time to get a decent yield by the end of june if i do an sog?

Honest answers....
1) no, they are small, very small
2) looks to me like something ate the leaves?
3) they don't look ready for nutes
4) get them into bigger pots
5) not a sog guy, but if you throw them into flower now I think yield would be quite small

alright thanks for your insight i just picked up some more lights i have had them under 4 t5 ho's im going to add 3 100w/ 23w cfls i think they are small because they havent been getting enough light
and how much bigger do the pots need to be? i think those are 3qt pots except for the ceramic one.

Plants look ok for 10 days old. For 4 weeks they look really, uh.... not so good. Bad in fact, at least slow to grow.

Scrog or no scrog you're not gonna get much if anything for the pipe by end of June. I think you have unrealistic expectations.

Until they start to grow no need to re-pot. Repot when leaves get about as wide as pot.

If it was just light, I would think they would be stretching. What all else do you have going on?

nothing really else i added 3 cfls today they have actually grown alot in the last 2 days they have almost doubled in size i moved them from outside to inside about a week and a half ago i think that could be what stunted their growth and it has been unusually cold so i added a heater a couple of days ago and they seem to be doing alot better since. i will post some pics in a few mins and yall can tell me what you think.

ok so here are the pics its been 2 days since the last pics and they look a lot better except for the one in the orange pot with what i think is some nutrient burn.

Look better. What are you growing in? I don't see much perlite in there.

There is drainage in the pots, correct?

no nutes yet and getbthe CFLs as close to the plants as possible.

If you want a chance of attaining your deadline get them into 12/12 NOW and get the CFL's as close as you can to every top. The more lights the better. Keep the lights close and try to surround them with light Have no idea what strain you are growing so the deadline is somewhat unrealistic unless they are fast flowering indicas. Don't know what you have them in so can't comment on nutes but if you want them to flower early get some flowering nutes into them at no more than 1/4 strength to begin.

im growing in regular potting soil right now im going to switch to the perlite / peat when i re pot and i think the drainage should be ok but i dont know much about drainage could you explain? i mean i get the idea but im wondering how much drainage etc. and i have the cfls within a couple of inches i just removed them for the pics.

  • well the deadline i beleive is just a dream at this point but i can always hope i just was not wanting to go through the trouble of moving them because im moving at the end of june. im using general hydroponics nutes at about 1/4 strength just started with bloom 4ml , biomarine 2.5ml, CaMg+ 5ml. im growing 2 grandaddy purp bagseeds and 1 AK47 bagseed. this is my first growing im really doing it for the experiance more than anything but i do hope that i can get atleast a lil from the plants.

im going to pick up atleast 2 more cfls so ill have around 250 actual watts of cfls but the light and heat seem to be working wonders.

Honestly man you should not nute your plants until you start to get 5 point fan leaves on them. I always start out with fresh water with a ph of 6 until they get their first 5 point fan leaves.

Try to keep your room temp around 80-85f for the right amount of leaf evaporation and steady growth. Try to make sure you don't have large fluctuation in temperatures. 10-15 degrees should be fine.

Looks like you're watering your plants wrong as well. You want to make sure to water all of the soil so your roots spread out looking for water. If you only water right next to the plants the roots won't grow out and spread throughout the pot very well. Only water once the soil is dryish. Not bone dry but so it looks and feels like there is not much water in it.

As for you plant number 4 pic. I've had seems come out the way as well. Looked like it had bad genetics. I let it grow and once it got bigger it turned out to be a great plant but those original leaves were always messed up. Doesn't matter because those will dye anyway.

Don't know if you've ever started seeds before but you normally want them in a warmish environmental. Looks like your light is fine because if they didn't have enough you'd see them be very elongated and yours look ok so far.

What kind of potting soil did you start with?

well i just assumed that all plant pots had drain holes the ones i have did not so i poked some holes in the bottom and added 3 more cfls today i rigged up a 3 light thing that goes above like a mirror in your bathroom and wired a cord into it and a switch so now i have 6 24w cfls and 4 24w t5's and i do usually water around the whole pot i just poured a lil extra water i had right near the plant before the pic i started with regular MG potting soil but i put some peat on top of it to fill up the pots because i had a lil extra left in the bag after i filled a couple other pots up thats why the soil looks weird in the pictures and i have just been using just water no nutrients for the last 3 days the ph is around 6.5. i checked the plants earlier and they look alot better and they have grown alot in the past few days with the added light i think they will really take off now.

Awesome. Glad to hear it. Sounds like they should. They'll start slow and then explode with growth it seems.

Looking a lot better, and not trying to be a dick, but I don't see any way you're gonna have anything smokeable by the end of June.

yeah i kinda figured that of course that is like 8 weeks from now and i started flowering a week ago. so my question is will that still mean nothing even if i only grow the top colas? i ask because if thats the case then i will say hell with just growing the colas and ill lst that bitch and try to get a better yield.
