List your moms

What defies a true mother? A plant you can consistently take a cut from? Or a plant that you can take an abundance of cuts from? Had a debate with my buddy last night about it and we really couldn't both come to a conclusion so I'd love to hear your guys thoughts.

A mother has abundance of cuts & usually having a 7-9 fingers per leaf(Mature) per cut!
She is usually under 1 lamp(400-600watter)! About 4-6 feet tall(depending on strain)!

Maybe your mothers I don't run 3000 watts just for my mothers In fact I keep them small and often make a new one out of one of the cutsfrom her. What a fucking waste unless you want to grow a few hundred plants at a time

Yah I am not trying to come on here and brag or anything or come across as crazy... but I can keep a good supply of clones rolling without mothers at all and can veg enough for 200 SQ Ft of plants from 650 Watts of flouros ... still have clones left over afterwards too

The thickness of that stem seems like she has sowed a few cuts for quite some time!

MY list is puny in comparison:

Purple Bubba Kush
Jilly Bean #3(not a fan) on its way out
Blue Dream-on its way out.
Plushberry (clone soon to be mother)
White Fire (clone soon to be mother)

Its a small list but im fairly certain i have stuff that no one else in Tucson has, or at least i like to think so.
(im using the word "mother" but they arent near as big as Birds etc)

My mothers in the past have been kept in 2 gal squared pots. I trim the root balls to keep them squat. No reason for a small closet gardener to keep a large mothers as I hardly share my cuts anymore.

nice collections guys.

i eventually mess up with clones and lose them. i gave up on mother plants awhile back. just one more batch of plants to feed.

now i just take clones before i put things into flower. right now i have a bubble gum cross, a BOG cross, a cinderella 88, something that i have to rename but i used to call malawi, querkle, orange crush and a pineapple cross.

i've never tried the querkle or orange crush so i'm curious.
i've been smoking the others for almost 2 years now, so although i like them all a lot, it's time to move on and see what else i've got.


oh, and a white fire clone.

I often take them before flower as well to avoid keeping a mother for that strain the only problem is if you are not going to flower all the strains the next run.

when grow boards finally had pictures (i think marijuana.com was the first), often people would accuse others of sprinkling sugar on their plants to make them look like that.

then you have the bonsai mothers. you can fit a bunch of them in a 2' sq closet. the tiny cuts grow quickly. i'll have to see if i can find some of my old pictures. since the disaster at OG, i tend to leave them scattered though out different boards.

a mother plant is anything you use to take cuts from over a few cycles.

i bought sweet tooth number 4 when it came out. they hermied on me. i think i still have 5 or 6 F1s that i didn't grow out. i want to throw them away but they're seeds and i can't bring myself to do it.

I have a few moms I will be getting rid of soon. Phasing out some stuff. I will list when the time comes. One for sure will be Gogi OG as I have several phenos.
