10 week strain 5 weeks in bad N defieceny what to do?

My friends got 2 jock horror plants in FF ocean forest vegged for about 5 weeks. There under a 1000 watt HPS light. He has been using FF bloom nutes and supplementing CAL Mag. Tested PH again right after the nitrogen defiencey and the run off is 6.4/6.5 in the two plants. That leads me to believe no lock out. Flushed at this point but I am afraid to add any grow nutes for him. We added grow nutes to a different plant a few weeks back that's in coco and the nice buds all grew these tall long stems with little leaves.

I don't want to go through that again. What can I do just learn from this and feed grow nutes through stretch next time is what I am thinking.anything else I can do flower production still looks incredible. Any recommendations at this point?

Are all the symptoms you're talking about likely to be caused by nitrogen deficiency? I get yellowing that is partly caused by N deficiency, but I also believe mine is exacerbated by bleaching by my 600w HPS. Can only imagine that to be more of an issue with 1000w. How far away is your light? As that may be a factor.

I don't grow in coco, so can't offer any real suggestions. But in soil I give veg nutes throughout the grow and don't feel it impacts upon stretch. Maybe what you witnessed may have happened even if you hadn't given the veg nutes. Just a thought.

Thanks I am not familiar with light bleaching I will have to look it up. The older bottom growth is what's going yellow. From what I read and the pics I see it sure looks like N defieceny. And the fact that my PH is on, I would think it should be taking up the bloom and MAg Cal so it kinda eliminates those. Where as there's very little N in the bloom nutes I was just figuring that was it.

That's also a good point about that coco grow maybe it was just something that could of happened. I'm gonna look up the bleaching. But I am curious if maybe hitting it with like 1/4 strength grow nutes would help at this point?

And yes that post kinda blew my mind for a second there.

If its an N deficiency and you are not willing to add some N, not much else can be done except watch as more and more leaves turn yellow.

N deficiency will always affect the lower leaves. Is there any nute burn on the leaves? If not increase your nutes. Does the Bloom nutes have any Nitrogen? If so just increase if not mix in 1/4 of grow with 3/4 bloom and check out results.

That pretty much counts out the light bleaching then. It's only the top parts that would be effected by bleaching.

omg....serious? if you have a deficiency DON'T ADD MORE base nutes. go get some nitrex or something similar and add a tiny bit of JUST N to your mix. if the problem gets better you know you're on the right track. if it gets worse then back to the drawing board, so to speak. I've a suggestion too. Have you thought about just flipping them to 12/12 and resuming your normal regiment? I've noticed when you switch to 12/12 the plants do a kinda "resest" and I've had plants the were just being a pain and not snapping out of lock out....due to me adding more base trying to correct a nute def problem, correct themselves and start going nice and lush.

I never stop nitrogen during my entire grow. It's said that the plants don't need as much in bloom, which might be the case, but I have found that keeping it in with bloom food and additives has never had an adverse affect on my grows. The only time I get yellow leaves is when it was left out or at the end of bloom.
