new at growing

I completely new at growing, and have a question. I started 2 mother plants of different stains to clone from for a hydroponic grow. I would say they are about 2 months old under florescent lights. In my area tax day is the safe day to plant outside so I think I planted them both on April 10. I put them in some really good soil, and we've been getting plenty of rain so I'v not checked on them till today. To my surprise they both had buds all over them. Are they supposed to get buds this early? From everything I've read I didn't think they would be ready until Sep. or Oct. If they already have buds how much longer till they are mature? Thanks for help.

First the disclaimer, "I do not grow outdoors and I am a newbie myself."

Now the advice. When you are thinking about growing outdoors there are two times that matter. The date of last average frost and the date your lattitude gets 14 hour days. As you have just found out putting them out prior to the longer daylight dates starts them flowering. It usually won't stay that way long enough to complete so they will re-veg to complete in the fall. That will set them back and you will lose a little weight on the harvest.

But so what? As long as you get a good harvest who cares if you lose a little. But next time wait until after your 14 hours of daylight date.

doesn't any one read the read before u post thread that comes at the top of every page... not to be rude.. but id say they will revegg and ull lose about month of time but I usually have no issues with revegg bcuz they bounce back with vigor and vengeance and most the time are my biggest plants. iv never lost weight in the end but gained weight if anything. my 2011 grow was all revegg garden.

yea try to put them in a spot that gets more light if you can.. or you could help them flower along and get a little early harvest.. cut off most of the good stuff and let it reveg

when I revegg I never remove anything it always just does its own thing... does anyone know if that makes a diff to remove the lil nodes for maybe quicker/better revegg?

the only time you really lose out is if you put out late or don't veg in anticipation of planting your garden.

you will just be loosing that node that's all.. I harvest everything and just leave a few little buds to revege and start the new plant. with a root system and strong stalk already in place.. its awesome.

yea when my plants revegg they shoot the new branches from the big nodes, which in theory is like super cropping them too.

The reason they flowered is that you were giving them long hours of light under your florescents. When you moved them outside they sensed the shorter day and thought the season was ending. I do this all year long with my plants. I just let them get a little taller before I put them outside. I'm on my 3rd harvest this year. Hopefully you can follow the advice above on revegging and end up with a nice little tree at the end of summer..

Good luck !!
