if you take clones off a plant and immediately flower them will you have more yield

Hey, I'm new to this and was wondering, if you take clones from a plant and flower the plant and the clones right after, will there be more yield than if you were to just have the mother plant flower without taking the clones? Just wondering.

No you will not get more yield that way. The cuttings will need to root and then veg or there will be nothing worth keeping.

Not true, I've taken clones about 5-7 inches tall, rooted them and immediately flowered them. I averaged about 1oz a plant of top shelf

edit: I only vegged for 3 days after rooting to help with the transplanting.

i would top the mother.
Or flower the clones separately

Positively true if you read his question. I average 3.5-4 per plant in an aero system and if i did what he asked i would pull maybe 4-6oz per harvest instead of 36-44oz.

I am going to try my Hydrofarm Megagarden for the first time ever. I have only had it for years and never used them. I am a dirtbagger. I was wondering how long I have to veg my clones after they root until I flower them? I am really only playing around to get my feet wet with hydro. I am not looking to pull major yields. I only want to have the clones live and harvest quality bud. I will be flowering them under a TEK 2 with four bloom tubes and I will be using Advanced Nutes ph perfect line. because of the TEK 2 T5 light I cant really let them get too tall. What is the safest minimum for veg for the clones until I do flower? Thanks.

It all depends on how many clones you're taking, your pipeline, how much light you have to fill, etc. Remember that the mom will keep growing while the clones take root. This means by the time the clones are done rooting in a week or 2, the mom will be one tough bitch. You can use 1 of the clones as the new mom and put the old mom(s) in flowering with the clones! By the time the clones and moms are 2 weeks until done flowering, the new mom will be a giant and you can take new cuttings in advance to refill the flowering room when they finish.

What matters is that you fill the area your lights cover and how fast you can fill most of the canopy before going 12/12. We're flowering the moms we took clones from and the flowering moms are now the same height as the clones that rooted the fastest.

If you think your mom(s) will already fill the canopy after the stretch, just flower the moms. Taking clones will give you 1-2 weeks of downtime as you wait for roots. Will the mom fill the canopy herself if you switch to 12/12 in 2 weeks or will she need help?
