I've just looked it up and it is the real thing we get in the U.K. The short story is that was banned in the States , Switzerland, France, Belgium. Switzerland and Belgium recently lifted the ban. It's legal in Spain, Portugal and Britain and always has been.

Wildly over-rated. 98% placebo effect. The best part about it is the high alcohol content, as that is the only thing in it that will mess you up.

This, it's basically fancy-flavored 151. In the early 1900s a couple researchers studied the effects of absinthe on people, but the only people buying it were chronic alcoholics (because they wanted to get the most bang for their buck and spirits weren't as widespread as they are now). People who are chronic heavy drinkers can hallucinate, hence the supposed "effects."

It's pretty good though. I had some when I was visiting a buddy in Canada before the US ban was lifted.

Ha! My buddy bought a bottle online..said it was 42$ american..he didn't do the conversion right..it was 420$..lol..but it was a huge bottle..and his girl drank it all and he got none
