Secret Jardine 240d wide 4x8 tent.Two 600s enough?

I am going to be starting a new grow with a 4 x 8 x 6 tent SJDR240W. I am planning on growing either 2 large DWC plants or 6 soil plants. Will be scrogging either scenario.. Would 2 600s be sufficient? I know it only gives me a little under 40 watts per sq ft and I am accustomed to running around 55-60 watts per sq ft. I will have the tent set up in a garage and I am worried about possible temperature issues.
I will be purchasing two blockbuster 8 inch air cooled hoods and preferably a double 600 lumatek electronic ballast, vortex 8 inch fan, insulated ducting and I am still undecided as to whether I want to run a sealed room or not.
I previously grew in a NGB style cabinet with a 250HPS and was able to get around 220 grms per harvest running a single plant.
I am looking to accomplish something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKB1pFsIQCU

Input would be greatly appreciated (before I blow the 2k necessary to make this plan a reality) :)

Thanks!!

2 600s will be enough. you could always do more but you should be fine with that less on the light bill too. are you able to run an intake indoors to get cool air? if not your probably just going to roast everything in that tent. would probably want some kind of booster fan pulling air frpm indoors maybe a 6 inch booster fan 240 cfm or so or you will need air conditioning in your garage. i havent done carbon or sealed rooms so im not sure how that stuff works. thats my 2 cents.

I cant believe your being so rude. What work am I asking to have done? Is this forum not specifically for asking for advice from fellow growers? Grow up.
This RIU you know. Most peeps from the Overgrow days are on another forum that can't be mentioned.

I run a 4x8 with two 600's. I get by with just two 170CFM vortex fans. One per hood pulling from the top of the tent exhausting outside the house. Passive intake. I run AC as needed to keep the temp in the room the tent is in at about 75 degrees. My tent temps never go above 82 degrees. Some people think that is too high but it is not.

Works for me.

Thankyou for your thoughtful, mature response mrblu
Yeah you see I am currently out of state and I have house that I will be moving into in California (my home state) that I have yet to walk around in :/ The house has a three car garage and is around 2k square feet. I am not sure exactly where I will place the grow and I am still deciding whether to use a tent or just build a small room in the garage where I can pull in cool air from the cooler part of the house and then vent into the attic. I dont even know how insulated the garage is and I will likely have to run soil or coco if I am unable to find a way to get res temps down for a dwc. Contrary to other posters here, I have put in quite a bit of work to get to this point. Its all a matter of environment,,the most important part of the process IMO... 37.5 watts just seems really low to me, but I guess if I just grow a couple monsters and scrog them the dedicated light above each, in reality will add up to more lumens than the numbers suggest.. Do you think an 8 inch vortex would pull enough air, if I used it in a negative pressure setup? I will be using two aircooled hoods inline with the vortex on the outside and I may use a charcoal filter if i decide to go with a non-sealed room.

I started the first ever wattage club on Overgrow.com The "250 watt club" Once I got to the point where I could pull a half pound from one plant consistently in my NGB style cab, I decided to go a little bigger so I could help people out with their meds. Contrary to other presumptive posts, I am not some lazy moron looking for someone to do all the work for me.
Nimby, NGB, BOG..all friends of mine. It seems people are a lot less friendly in here on these forums nowadays? I hope the members here prove me wrong

First of all thanks for the reply :)
I have been out of the loop for a while...raising kids etc :)
I would have preferred to put the tent inside the house, but the wife wont have it :/ . So what do you run in your tent? Soil? DWC? I am worried about res temps if i run dwc during the warmer months and I dont want to put out a bunch of money for a chiller rig.. So you are not running a sealed envoronment and have 2 dedicated fans one for each hood? Interesting.. haven't thought of that angle.. I was thinking just one big ole 8 inch vortex ( I can always turn it down) that I would connect to both hoods...and vent the hot air into the attic..
Thanks for the info.. appreciated :)
How do I give +rep? A couple folks in here deserve it!
Pm me the forum that you cant mention?

If you are that worried about heat, use 1 fan to directly blow cool air from outside, or lowdown through the cool tubes, mount your other fan above the cool tubes
to extract doing it this way will lower the temps better than using 1 fan to suck warm air though the lights

Thanks.

I run 3.5 gallon buckets of coco / perlite at about 70 / 30 percent mix. I hand water with a water wand via submersible pump in a 30 gallon rez. The rez is outside the tent. Since I water drain to waste I don't care if the rez water hits the mid 70's. My rez only lasts a few days between refills. I water everyday.

I don't have experience with DWC but don't think you would be able to get by without a chiller. It would be cheaper than trying to keep the garage cooled to the upper 60's very low 70's needed for DWC. With a chiller you can keep the water cooler than the air and not have to run the AC so hard. It would probably freeze up anyway?

I run two fans because I had them and they are only 4". I went back to 600 watt from 400's and used what equipment I could to save some dough. One fan of adequate size works fine for two lights too.

PM on the way.

yeah you will have to def look at the garage before I would go any further. try to get an idea with what your working with. if you build a small room or enclose a space you could probably mount a window AC in the wall or just run a duct to the room in the garage somehow. Does the area get much humidity? But that fan is more than enough to hook a carbon filter and exhaust both lights and you could go with a passive intake just make sure its big enough so your tent doesnt implode lol.

HAHA,
Yeah an 8 inch will suck the walls in a bit if i dont use a good sized intake.. I want to avoid an ac at all costs. The area is not very humid, although 15 miles west and its very humid quite often...DO you think an 8 inch vortex is overkill? I figured too much is better than not enough.. At first I may just hang a 4 ft 8 bulb t5 in there to get started..still need to pick my winners before flowering them out..So in reality, I have at least a month to veg inside the ten while building a stand alone veg area to house new clones..I plan on only having around 12 plants at any one time..at different stages of growth. i need to be as close to an interior wall as possible in order to get to the cooler air..I think i will hold off on dwc until the fall...or maybe just work on getting a couple of good mothers until then. I am itching to get started though.6 weeks till I move to my new place..Time to order my tent :)

i use a 420 cfm 6 inch fan that was cheap with a carbon filter for my room and its 8x12x8 and it does the job fine for now. i run it through a 1k watt light and 600 watt light. i use a booster fan to pull air from the floor of the room an exhaust the air in the top of the room close by the carbon filter in my tent. i have a 4x4 tent in there with the 600 in it and a 1k beside it for flowering outside of the tent. i figure the room is 768 cubic feed and i have maybe 20 feet of ducting so i figure theres 800 cubic feet so it should be able to exaust the room atleast once every 3-4 minutes. I think atleast 1 time every 5 is recommended. the plants seem to grow well and i can run a wall AC and the fan isnt strong enough to suck all the cold air out too fast so im able to chill the room while still pulling in warm air from my intake.

its in an uninsullated building so i was worried about temps at first but with the wall ac for 80 bucks thats like 6k btu and just the 420 cfm fan everything seems to be working ok. so far on 90+ degree days i can keep it 78-80 no problem. in the winter i take out my glass in my hood and run a wing reflector in my 600w cool tube and they keep the room warm and i put the inline fan on a thermostat to cut on when it gets warm enough to refresh the air. and a 1500 watt heater (damn expensive electric heaters) to come on at like 64 degrees in the winter but i run lights at night time always to avoid heat and cold problems a little better.

i meant 440 cfm fan this one

Thanks for the info MrBlu
Yeah I'll go with the 600s in blockbuster hoods for now. If it is super easy to keep temps in the right range, I may add another 600 later.

Well Just dropped $700 on a Gorilla 5 x 9.. I hope its big enough for the two 600s :D
Will be using 2- 8 inch cool tubes.. I will have some room left over in there to work around in.. I know 2 600s wont light up 45 sq ft properly...
