I am growing this as a mother under about 500w of floros and CFLs. It gets lots of sunlight through the window as well. It's growing in a potting soil with about 25% perlite. Drains well, Im careful not to over/under water. It was grown from a clone, I have had it about a month, and has just bushed right out for me. I have topped it and am training it to keep it low. I use fish tank water, but I ph correct every single gallon. I tend to feed light, I had started to compost but dont know if it is truly organic; the worms are healthy. I'll give it some light nutes now and then, but right now I'm lost. Don't know if it's high or low, and I noticed that some parts of the plant were really dark green while others were more of a pale or neon. i know shoots are supposed to be lighter, but this is different. Some of the leaves looked a little washed out, almost pretty, but not right. There are some dead spots here and there. I have not seen any bugs, and I haver looked closely with a loupe and a 25x mag scope.

If I'm guessing right you might be low on calmag.
Check to see if your food for the plant contains any
calmag if not then you might want to get
some for your plant. Also I would change out the pot as the roots (tips) may be exposed to
direct sunlight in the pot that your plant is in. The pot is also dark in which the roots
might get heated up and may be causing the plant to stress and lose leaves. I would use
a lighter colored container with drain holes only at the bottom of the container. If you don't change the container and it's been growing awhile in there, I would probably top dress the soil with some fresh soil and add a little calmag as a supplement to the food added. That's just me though.

or solutions. Interesting and I hope it works out well

Definitely need to get rid of that pot. Light is no good for roots. Also, like Milovan said, looks like you need some cal-mag. Couple questions: 1. What is the PH of your soil and the water you are giving them? 2. What types of nutrients are you giving, how much, and how often? It looks like your baby is getting a little too much nitrogen(tips down) and might be too hot(leaves folding up like a canoe. Do you have a fan giving them a nice kiss of wind? What is the temperature right at the plant, especially the side closest to the window?

Only time they are in the window is when its sunny, its Michigan, so heat isnt a problem yet. Im able to keep temps down to 80 most days. The only way I know to check the ph of the soil, is by catching the runoff when I give it just plain water. The ph starts at about 8.3, but I have ph down, so I take a reading, then I add a little pf the ph down, and take another reading. When I get it to 6.5, usually 1/4t of ph down, then I water the plants. ///Is this right?/// I do have some calmag, and I have about 10 different bottles of nutes to choose from. I am most curious about the temp right near the window because regardless of the temperature outside, it can get very hot right near a window on a sunny day. So, you water with 6.5PH adjusted water? What is the PH of your runoff?

If you have the extra cash, invest in a 250W HID and you will immediately see much better results. CFL's simply do not have the light intensity of HID lights. If you cannot afford that, try keeping them away from the window. I know this sounds strange but constantly putting them in different environments with different temps, humidity, and light intensity really is not good for the plants. They get stressed out and cannot fight off problems as well. A healthy plant can take much more heat and light where an unhealthy one will get burned easy causing you to lift the light(s) and therefor getting much less lumens.

Are those 10 bottles all part of a line?

I have some Humboldt, and some Optimum that I got from this guy who sold me a light. Ph up, ph down, a soil acidifier with micronutes, epsom salts, and some calmag. I flower under a 400HPS, but this floro works well to veg, It has 8, 4 foot T12s, one 24" T12, and 6 26watt CFLs. Runoff Ph comes in right around 7.

Which Humboldt and Optimum do you have? Your PH seems good and maybe bring it down to 6.4 or 6.3 seeing as the soil ph is a little over 7. The soil will bring your water PH up a couple of points right where it should be. You are testing water ph after you add nutes, right?

As for the lights, you are running over 400 watts using those fluoros but are not getting anywhere the amount of lumens you would get using your 400w HID. You can use HPS in veg as well. Better yet, use the HPS along with some of those CFL's to get more of the blue spectrum. Remember, you may be running the same wattage with the fluoros but you are not getting anywhere near the light intensity of the HID. Try to get that light as close as you can without burning them or causing heat stress.

I have to flower under the 400, not enough space. I clone/sprout under an 80w pair, then they go under the floro thing, and then under the hps. As soon as I can, I want to ditch the floro for a 400mh.

Are you using both the Humboldt and the Optimum? Also, your soil already has plenty of nutrients so be careful with adding more. I honestly think the very first thing you should do is get a nice nursery pot, 5-7 gallons, and transplant it. Your soil is drying out too quickly with that pot and your roots are hating it. Make sure the pot you get has good drainage and make sure the side slots go up the side just a bit to allow proper ventilation for the roots as well. $3-$5 will make a big difference.

Just don't use the Humboldt and Optimum at the same time. Pick one line or the other.

You are testing water ph after you add nutes, right?

Too early to tell, but I suspect you may have it here. My water is around 8.3, so I would draw a gallon, correct the p-h, then add nutes. Since your post I got to thinking about my procedure. Today, I drew a gallon of water, mixed up an even nute solution and then I tested the ph. It was 6.6, without adding ph adjusters.

Seems that I was doing this wrong, and have very likely induced a ph problem unwittingly.

Should I do a flush at this point?

Add your nutes before checking your PH. Nutrients will almost always change your PH quite a bit. Mine lower my ph like crazy. Transplant, flush, get your ph set and you will see much, much better results.

Then get a bigger pot that your pot will fit in and fill in the voids with soil.

Still having issues with her. She seems better, but not yet. I have been watering with ph corrected to about 5.5 or so. I forgot to check the runoff. I seem to be having similar issues with the one I have in flowering, since she's priority right now, I wanted to post the pictures of her instead of her sister, as was pictured at the beginning. This is a few days after I had trimmed out a bunch of dead and dying leaves.

Starting to feel that this is a race. Will the plant finish her time, or will she lose all of her leaves first, and dry on the vine. Just don't know what do do with her at this point. At least I was successful at cloning her.
