lol come on man get a timer, what if your away from the house for a night or something comes up and you cannot make it back to put your girls to bed? I mean if you have a timer you can still switch it on / off by hand, but use it as a back up for when you forget or are away from the house. its not pure laziness... far from it, its automation, some people have more than one room or 2 plants man, some people still work a 8-5 job, so your thinking is way off base.

Yeah man,

I tried it with no timer for about three weeks. Not anymore. I work from 6am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 10 pm. There is no way I can be around for a proper 12/12. Get a timer, the weight will be off your shoulders. We do not create this technology to be lazy (although it comes with the territory), we create it to be more precise. :peace:

Yea i guess you got a point, if your always gonna be home there is no "need" for one, but multiple light schedules (ie: what your doing, cause you do not have them on a timer) will stress your plants out, it might not make a huge difference or hermie them but it will stress them none the less. Just thought i would let you know most places have times for around 5 bucks, not a huge amount of cash (a pack a cigs...). Also, you will find other uses for this timer, its not like your wasting your money i use one lights, fans, fishtanks, fruiting chamber (mushroom cultivation), just to name a few..

an other thing i like to add i dont think it would be hermie so much because when it turns dark outside there still light and during spring the days get longer and longer everyday meaning that all marijuana plants outdoors would go hermies since there light schudule is being fukked wit everyday and than the days get shorter all is i will not get a timer unless i need it and my temp is fixed

I understand, just wanted to let you hear were I was coming from. Personally I have numerous timers that came with CraigsList purchase of hydro equipment, so i never had to buy one outright. Keep doing what your doing and you will be fine, just hope nothing extreme comes up that keeps you away from your babies. I just wanted you to take some precautionary steps to make your crop survive if anything was to happen.

Uhh not really considering sunrise/sunset only changes about 5 minutes a day and it takes quite a long time so it doesn't stress the plant..

It is science, pure and simple. Everyone knows someone that has thrown a couple seeds next to the porch and the next thing you know, there is a plant. It will probably continue to grow left on its own and nothing bad happens. This site is about maximizing your investment in time, energy and equipment to take growing to a whole new level. Laziness has nothing to do with it. I have 4 timers. One in my veg room that controls the lights. I have 3 in my flowering room. One controls my HPS light, one controls my CO2 gauge and one turns my fan & carbon scrubber on and off. If I had to remember what to do when I would spend all my time running up and down the stairs. I also wouldn't be able to leave and go to my job and have a life. By controlling the envoirnment with timers I am able to visit my ladies 2x a day, check & spritz clones, make sure all is well and enjoy the experience of knowing that these timers are on my team and are valued contributors to the end product. Anyone can grow some OK bagseed. I grow Chronic, and I need timers to help me. I tell all my plants - Be all you can be! It is my job as the grower to see that the they get what they need. After all, there is also an issue of pride in looking at the end product and saying - Hell Yeah, I grew that Chronic!
