Why wont my seeds germinate??

I have this plate and like 3 other plates with like 50 seeds on it....there is NO WAY that all of those can be duds....I even did the cup of water thing and most of them sunk...What the hell why arent they popping? I got 3 seeds out of like 75 to work so far and its been almost 8-9 days germinating.

See??? I try on a plate in between moist paper towels...

I try in soil I try in a thing with a bag over it..

See good seeds below so what the hell is up?

I always wrap mine in a driping wet papertowl. And put theme in a ziplock bag and put theme in a warm dark place

I agree might be temp problem i heard about scuffing them up with sand paper They should have pop atleast sum of them whats your temps?

I agree. don't even need to soak em though. wet medium will do that for you. I've never had a single see not germinate in soil. It's kinda how seeds have germinated for well, the entire course of history. Chuck em in some soil under some light and as such, heat, and if the seeds are viable, they'll sprout. fuck plates and paper towels and zip lock bags.

I generally soak my papertowel wrap that shit up put a plate over it and under it. put it int he cupboard and dont open the door, for 24 hours and viola.

Pretty much the same as me. I tend to let most of the drips drip off though. The ziplock bag is key imo - stops the moisture getting out.

ive only ever had 1 seed not sprout from the paper towel method

I had two whole 5pks fail using it. 1 pk of Super Lemon Haze (GHS) and 1 pk of Cheesus (BB). Got two news packs and enjoyed 100% germination using the same method. I'm averaging 100% germination with Sannies right now. Only duff from him was one of his freebies - which was a reg I was gonna guerilla outside and wasn't bothered about anyway.

oh I know it is an old and deeply ingrained cannabis growers practice and works well for some...just it is totally unnecessary and increases risk of root damage

This is exactly what I do as well. Never fails! I have had a 100% success germination so far with this method. Hope everything works out for you man!

i soak a rockwool cube in water for like 30 min then just pop a seed in there, sits in a humidity dome on top of my t5. wait for sprout

i would not think temp is an issue, unless it is very cold, i always start mine at room temp which in the uk is 70-75 at best during summer and as low as 60 in winter
and see most sprout in 2-4 days
i guess this makes sense naturally seeds would fall off the plant into the cold ground and sprout in spring when the ground is still cold
although i know if you are in a real hurry heat does speed things up a little

even my floaters usually sink overnite and still pop.
