In the short time that i have been on this site i have found as i read through posts, mainly the plant problems (i like to keep up to date so if i ever get any problems i know where i have seen it first) it seems for every suggestion someone makes to help another grower there is an equal opposite suggestion,...someone says do it like this, then someone says no like this....

surely with all you medical growers in the states, humbolt county, the emerald triangle etc and with all the very educated amongst us, there must be a way to put together a proper HOW TO GROW WEED guide,

there is a science to everything why is it that we dont have one scientific proven method for growing weed??

growing weed or growing anything in that instance is just like everyones opinion everyones got there own and different way of doing things.. theres so many different strains, light setups, nutrient lines, mediums, and environments that its hard to pinpoint 1 way to grow weed.. growing is like going to sonic and deciding on your favorite happy hour slush.. soo many different flavors sizes additives etc. but wen u do find that right flavor its your flavor that works for you. same with weed. u find a way that works for u and ur pocketbook and roll with it until u find a better way or "flavor"

There are so many variables to different grow rooms to even put together an exact how to.

Different temps and humidity between 2 different rooms could mean plants want more or less feed depending upon levels of high heat or high humidity.

Pot sizes, soil, soiless, hydro, EC monitoring, pH testing, plant training, nutrients, NPK values, micro nutrients, cloning, starting seeds, lighting, inverse square law, the list goes on and on.

The best thing anyone can do is go and find some magazines related to indoor growing.

I personally love URBAN GARDEN MAGAZINE.

Read about general plant growing.

Information of indoor growing is the same, nothing changes just because its cannabis.

There is no such thing as the subject of science, there are sciences, and the modernist methodological concept of science (we have moved beyond modernism, some time ago in fact - we are arguably in the post post modernist world). All and every science provides strong suggestions, compelling empirical evidence with which to subscribe ones belief. But that is what it is, every time, always! A belief! There is no such thing as a certainty, even within science. There are some issues for which the evidence is so strong, so compelling, so free from paradigmatical difference arguments that not much belief is required; the physical sciences. Marijuana growing is very far removed from the consistent conditions within the physical sciences. Scientific methods when applied to studying growing are likely at best to produce results that require substantial belief for them to be utterly believed in all circumstances, and in some cases equally compelling supporting results can be obtained for opposing sides of the argument concerning a particular grow issue.

The point I am trying to make is that very few issues in growing, even where scientific method has applied to studying them, are stone cold certainties 100% of the time. Of course watering your plants with 10 litres of undiluted ph down solution is one (don't do that); but other issues, like whether to flush or not are far more subjective. My advice would be to test what feels right to your own reasoned logic. Even -and I will say in particular - when it goes against the popular consunsus opinion. Don't be afraid to admit you were wrong, but equally, don't be afraid to believe differently to everyone else.

You know.....
One would think washing a car is a pretty simple straightforward project, but even with that, there is no "one" right way to do it.

Employing hot women in cut off denim shorts and white t-shirts (minus bras) is very much heading in the right direction.

I do not imagine a radical feminist would agree with me. :-P LOL

"You're good, no, you're not good; welcome to roll it up
Good luck sorting through the bullshit."

Somebody posted this quote a couple months ago and it sums up the site perfectly. (I told him I was going to steal that line someday).

A lot of bad information gets posted here but you just have to learn to sort through it. The classic is overfed plants, and the grower wants to know what deficiency he has. Lots of people tell him to feed them some more. I hate being the lone voice telling him to back off the nutes for a while. He might as well flip a coin as ask RIU. There is still lots of GOOD info here too, you just have to sift through some bs to find it.

This is what makes growing Cannabis so easy. I've grown hundreds of different kinds of plants. Some of which have very finicky requirements (e.g. Orchids) and I count Cannabis among the easiest, most adaptable plants to grow. It is already genetically adapted to a wide range of conditions and only wants to reproduce for successive generations like any other plant. For the most part, I believe it is our job to get out of the way, supply it with it's basic needs and let it do it's thing. The fact that many of the growers on this site have grown nothing but Cannabis confirms this. A rudimentary understanding of horticulture is helpful to help avoid making stupid mistakes (I've seen thousands since joining the site) but, a grad-degree is not needed to produce high quality and/or yields. To distill everything down I suggest the K.I.S.S. method where less is more.
