hello,

I am a fairly experienced outdoor grower and was starting my first indoor grow with
a Purple kush (fem) autoflower with a 400 watt light and after sprouting in a red solo cup
i put str8 into a 5 gallon to promote the best /largest root growth. so on day 10-11 it
was looking pretty good id say 4-6 inches tall and green and healthy. day 12 i wake up
and very faint little brown/yellow spots on there. i google wat that could be and it say
possible calcium or some sort of nutrient defiecincy. and i have no nutrients @ this moment but
my outdoor have never needed it . ive had 6-7 foot plants harvest 3/4 -1LB no nutrients outside
so one of my questions is are nutrients mandatory for indoor grows? cuz i thought it was "highly recommended"
@ day 21 which i planned to do. second, i did slip up and was kinda switching back and forth from
18 hrs on/6 off one night to 24 hrs on another night, would this kill it? also very lil bugs seemed to have come out of the
soil and i find em chilling on the plant. could this be the issue? any suggestions ? was using just good black soil from the yard.
but sprouting and growth was going fine it just died out of no where. im gonna post two pictures. one is a picture from yesterday
i woke up to lil spots and the other one is from today , about to be pulled sadly.
any advise guys? i guess next time ill start them in soil that i buy is there a good brand you guys recommend?
Is 400 watt bulb ok for like 2-3 plants? is the fan have to be on all the time?

thanks i appreciate any help.day1 spots.jpgday2 dead.jpg

Temp / humidity / airflow ?

24 hours temps can run high & steam off your humidity

400 watts is plenty for two plants, but way too much for 2 babies, unless your very careful

4-6 inches lol
lol ya dueche 4-6 inches, i put alot of dirt around the base of the plant to support to root.

but for the helpful guy.
I dont know the humidity and air flow. but its in a closet no windows with a 400 watt about 1- 1 1/2 ft above it. and you think doing 18 hrs consistently would be better idea than for 2 babies with the 400 watt? i wasnt having an issue till these spots and then dead the next day.

but as for temp control it was between 65-75 degrees but probably getting pretty humid so i would throw the fan on a couple hrs a day when the light was on.

and do you think the light being too strong could have that affect? or is it more likely calcium defiencincy?

its damped off and died , the roots were water logged leaching out the inherent nutrients from the seedling

dude ,,,,,, float the seed a day to give it a friggin big hint its grow time , drop onto soil thats had 30% perlite mixed in , damp the top and stick it somewhere warm , give it a couple of days and there going to be waving and shouting mama at you

an example

brown pot , a scattering of autos grown the exact way i said

so it was over watered? i sprayed it lightly with water like 3x -4x a day.
what a waste of a seed is there a recommended water amount per day for lil autoflowers like that?

and by float the seed u mean just leave the seed floating in a cup of water until it sinks?
cuz ive only germinated with a paper towel in the past.

the soil has retained the water ,,,hence the perlite , helps stop this ya see , light watering a day doesnt help if the water doesnt bugger off and allow air to the roots , theres not a recommended amount of anything ever with weed , as a general rule ignore and they adapt , funny really , another example is im in the uk so as you can imagine were born wearing a feckin coat its that cold all the time and yet here we are a greenhouse under a cherry tree and the dam thing are thriving

watering i can happily say yes ive done it , how often i havnt a clue , when i remember covers it quite well and its an irony there wet in the picture so have just had a splash , this was friday ( edit , i think it was thursday thinking about it ), ill give them another drop say monday if they get lucky , as you can see nothing but the best for my babys

as for floating ..... ok lets get a degree of technical

a seed has a waxy layer on the outside , this is to keep pathogens and general nasty shit out of the seed , no-one loves a seed full of brown so the plant has this as a defense mechanism , anyhow this layer of waxy shit goes soft on impact with water , mix in a little warmth and the plant goes ``AHAAAAAAAAAAA GERM TIMEEEEEEEE`` as it now thinks its spring thanks to the warmth and wetness

so

allowing a plant to float a day is a great way to trigger it into thinking its spring time

BUT

you do not want the poor thing swimming in there for the next 3 weeks , it willl germ and die
you do not want it to germ completely in there , its a low oxygen enviroment , the poor thing will die off
you should not give a toss if the seed floats or not , this is about a tiny pocket of gas in the seed , if the seed is dence and full of plant matter it sinks , if it isnt it floats , this doesnt not effect the viability of the seed , the idea of it floating meaning its rotted inside and is dead is a pile of bollocks to be ignored
you do not want to stick in a paper towel after a float for a million bazillion reasons but mainly because its not needed , its also not cricket to be manhandling a plants root system as there are tiny hairs that do not appreciate some red eyed dipshit dragging it across a bit of paper killing off the hairs that it really really needs , this is without all the shit thats on your fingers that the plant tried to avoid in the first place etc etc , not needed or wanted

24 hrs mucka thats all thats needed then into soil 5mm down and it will love you for it , honest , dont forget a bit of perlite to loosen up that soil though

does the tempature of the water matter? cold, warm, hot? and it shouldnt have a problem thinking its spring... cuz it is lol i just cant grow outdoors.
i assume i can get perlite @ any sort of store supporting growing stuff lol.

so as far as the 400 watt light and temporarily letting the fan run thats fine?
just dont water as much and put perlite in? any other suggestions?

cuz this was my tester i wanted to start 4 white rhino seeds next but am hesitant after this ones GREAT start and terrible end lol.

and is there a chance this plant could revive itself if i dont water it a couple days?

Might just be the light (LOL), but that looks like 4-6 cm., NOT 4-6".

Nothing drops dead "healthy" at 12 days of age.

Seriously. You fukked it up somehow.
ya man thats what im trying to figure out. it was seemingly healthy. all green, nice size
stem. but i guess i prolly over watered it. im floating 4 seeds starting today. gonna try again.
any suggestions are appreciated. about preferred nutrients or preffered soil

also anyone know a good trusted seed site that ships to US?
